High Speed Internet

All of them are suppose to have the hook ups. Not sure if they are all completed by now. It is $9.95 for 24 hours of use.

The latest VM has a paragraph on the Internet plans - I'll paraphrase. Select WDW Resort Hotels (including DVC Resorts) will be offering in-room high-speed Internet access (currently $9.95 for a 24-hour period of access).

Now available: CSR, Y&B (including BCV), Contemporary, GF, Boardwalk (including BWV). Access at VWL and OKW scheduled for late spring. SSR is expected to offer the service when it opens in May.

Several resorts now feature Wi-Fi. Guests with Wi-Fi enabled laptops or PDAs can access the Internet in the common areas of Contemp, CSR, GF and Y&B. (Coincidentally the convention hotels - ;) ) Additional charges apply.

BCV had the service as of last week. I did not tryt he wireless, but did use the in-room connection with my own network cable. The ports were right by the dining table in our 2 BR. It said "welcome to Corronado Springs", but other than that worked fine.

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask these questions but I saw this thread so here goes. Could anybody tell me the procedure for using the high speed and the wirless internet. Am I right in thinking that for the in room link I just need to plug a LAN cable into my laptop and then just open the internet explorer or do I need some other software.? Also how they charge for the service ,is just added to your room account or do you have to request it first.? Regarding the wirless access I am assuming my wirless card (Belkin IEEE 802.11G/54Mbps ) will work ok (I'm visiting from the UK) Again do you just access the service via IE or do you need to setup an account first.?
Thanks for any advice.

I only used it wirelessly in the lobby of the Yacht Club....just wanted to try it out for fun.....My laptop detected the signal and asked me if I wanted to connect to the network....It used the browser to point to you the login screen/payment screen....It was a quick minute or two to fill out the online form and off I went surfing.....It even had a timer that told me how many minutes I had used (or maybe it was how many that were left?) Either way, it was simple
