Hi from PA! From the Welcome Board

Hey PA'ers! I posted this a while back, but I wanted to drop you a quick update . . .

I entered the Dream Job contest through Disney and CareerBuilder.com for the position of CMO (Chief Magic Official) After a long process of applications, interviews, and voting, they have narrowed the field down from over 1300 to the top 3. I MADE THE TOP 3!

As a fellow Pennsylvanian - I live just north of Pittsburgh and have family all over the state - I'd love it if you had the time to check out the contest. The next round of voting starts on Monday the 14th at www.dreamcmo.com. I'll be down in WDW the 16th - 22nd competing in various contests which will be taped on posted on that site.

Thanks for your support!

Good Luck Justin! I'm routing for you! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Congratulations, Justin. We were thrilled to see you make the top 3. We're not too far from you up here in Zelienople. It's good to see a local guy make it to the big time. ;)

This calls for a dancing banana! ...

Hi there...glad to see some familiar places here. We (me, DH, DD 8, DS 6) are from York Co....close to the MD line. Heading to DW 9/12/08-9/20/08 w/ the neighbors. (hooray for free dining)
Good luck to Justin!!!!

Sorry, I didn't reply sooner. I've been busy lately. You must be relatively close by if you not only know the colors of the High School, but also got the accent right (If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much.):rotfl2: Thanks for the welcome to the boards.

Hey there- Fellow Berks Countian here !! Sinking Spring !! I just read your blog- it's awesome. I have actually been to your work- I won the tags of gold many years back LOL....

Just wanted to post my experience at the Disney outlet at Grove City-
It was fun to go in, but we ended up buying only a few things. We just returned from a WDW trip a few weeks ago. They have a lot of t-shirts in smalls and x-large and many pins and stuffed animals. I was not allowed to use my disney rewards card, I guess b/c it is a private business and not a real disney store. That was disappointing. I asked someone working there if they would be getting new stuff, and she wasn't sure. We will probably go back in 2 weeks to see. It was neat to see all the Disneyland stuff. I bought a photo book of DL and we would like to go there next instead of WDW.

I'm from Pittsburgh and to add a tip about the airport (and I'll probably kick myself later 'cause when the word gets out I'll have lost my security check-through advantage) and getting through security faster.

Sometimes there is a less known entrance for security. It's upstairs where you check your luggage. when you enter the airport from the main floor (not the level where luggage check is) take the up escalator to your left. The entrance to the "secret" security check through area is immediatly to your right. Yes, you have to go outside, but it's worth it! once outside go to your right and cross the road. There will be a set of double doors. go through there and you will find yourself in what is usually a MUCH shorter security line and it goes FAST! when you exit this area you take an escalator down to the tram area. And Voila! you are past the mass of people trying to squeeze themselves through the "regular" security area.

OK, so lets just keep this between DIS fans.:thumbsup2

ADisneyQueen, where in Grove City is the Disney Outlet? It's been a few months since I've been to the outlet stores but I don't recall seeing a Disney Store in that complex. Is it new? Or is it somewhere else in Grove City?

Thanks!!

My sister discovered this several years ago and we have been using it ever since. Most times it is a significantly shorter wait. However, last August we flew on a Monday morning - I think we arrived around 6:30am - the line was sooooooo long. Several people in it were worried about missing their flights. So, I would be careful on Mondays - I think it was a lot of business travelers. That said, when we flew the day before Thanksgiving we were the only ones back there!!!

I've used that security entrance in the Pittsburgh Airport. It is usually shorter but not always open. It's a long walk for anyone who has trouble walking.

The Disney Store in Grove City is temporary. It should only be open another couple of weeks, probably four, unless business is great and they decide to leave it open longer. It is located on the 79 side of the outlet at the end of the second "wing" of the mall. I believe it is the 400 section. I've heard it is the old Mikasa store.

Thanks SharnMickey! I'll have to check it out...maybe tomorrow!!! How cool is that!? A shopping AND a Disney fix all in one!

TY all for the welcome, its so nice to know I'm not the only disney fanatic in PA. Does anyone know if the outlet store opened in the Rockvale Outlet near Lancaster? I haven't been out that way in a couple of months because of a car accident but would love to check it out. Thanks.

Ok, but don't tell anyone else! The line has been getting longer and longer as word gets out. It used to be my secret special way of getting through security. Now, on Monday mornings it's faster to use the First Class line...:sad1:
