I have been on the board for about 6 months but just discovered this part of the board. I guess I was too busy with the planning to venture around too much. Anyway I am getting ready to start my Disney Sept. 2006 trip scrapbook. I have been buying all the Disney scrapbook stuff for the past 5 years just waiting for this trip to happen. I think I have spent just as much on Disney stuff for the scrapbook as I did for the trip.....OK probably not that much but I have a ton of stuff. Now that I have my pictures (over 900) I am needing a push to get started. I have scrapbooked for many years but for some reason this book is scaring me. I don't want to screw it up. Anyway just wanted to say hello to everyone and I am going to start reading everyones ideas here.

Hey there Mrs. Grumpy!! Welcome!!!

Don't let your album scare you, there are several ways to get started. It's just like taking on Disney, 1 day and one park at a time. That is 2 ways to do your album. Some go in chronological order and others, like myself, go by park.

Just enjoy the moment and think, you'll be visiting Disney again in your memories as you do the album. There's nothing better than a free trip right! :goodvibes

Welcome, Mrs. Grumpy!

I remember feeling the same way when I began scrapbooking with our first Disney trip in 2000. I think it took an entire weekend to commit to the design of the first page. Some days I'm still not much better than that. :lmao: Just keep in mind that all that matters is what YOU think and what YOU like. You're capturing your memories at that moment in time. Over the months (for some of us it's days) your style will change, and you'll be able to see an evolution in your pages. It's interesting to look back and not only see the pictures, but also see how far you've come in your design.

The previous poster captured it best, though. This is the most wonderful park of scrapbooking a trip.

Have fun...and join the scrapbooking challenge if you need a little extra motivation. :)

HI there,
I've been a Disney freak my entire life, but it got worse when we had our first child, Angie. When I took her for the first time when she was 4 months old, I took so many pictures and I knew that scrapbook would take a long time. It took me so many hours. I learned from then though. Now I only use the best pictures in my scrapbook album and then I make a DVD slideshow and put it the scrapbook album so I know where it is. It saves a lot of time and a lot of money. I put Disney music in the DVD and now Angie loves watching them. She also loves looking at the albums but the DVD's are so special too because you can cram every single picture in there. Let me know if you need any help :) Good Luck!

Welcome, Mrs. Grumpy, to our little corner of addiction! I never knew this could be such an all-consuming hobby. I know how you feel about your Disney album. I have started trying to think of a theme before I go, just because the album itself scares me when I get back if I don't have some sort of idea.

And gtrigona - I did that this last trip. I wanted to show off pictures before I had them scrapped, so I did a DVD. It was wonderful!
