I just saw that the dates for HHN 2012 are on US website. Halloween Horror Nights 2012
Event Dates: Sept. 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30
Oct. 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 & 31.

My question is on when to go. We are arriving the afternoon of Oct 28th. We should be at our hotel by 3:00pm. We are buying US tickets for starters. Since that day is pretty much wasted should we just go on to the park for the last hour or two, and do the stay and scream on our first day? It is a Sunday and the 2nd last day for HHN. Will ie be unbearably busy and should we waitfor Oct 31st?

Actually...I think you should wait until Halloween to go. Historically Halloween night is not very busy but the last weekend is jammed! That was certainly the case for me two years ago. Go to the park on Halloween, purchase the HHN tickets for that night and do Stay & Scream. You'll be glad you did.

Sounds good, so we've been to Orlando 3 previous times now, never doing much other than theme parks, what do you suggest on our first day? Like I mentioned in my previous post were arriving on a Sunday, we should be at our hotel 2-3 PM. Are there any outlet malls open on Sunday? Maybe we'll just have a look around Idrive.

Yes...both outlet malls are open on Sundays. Don't forget the new Hollywood Drive In Mini Golf at CityWalk. You should make time to play both courses.

Sooo much work is killing me.. I haven't been on the boards for ages! :scared:

Glad to hear the dates are the ones I predicted...

Will be there for 28th-30th...

If HoS is open on the 27th, will go to that on that day!

I NEED my HHN vacations... :goodvibes

Cheers!

Don't care too much for golf, it will probably end up being a run to a mall and then back to the hotel for a swim...or something like that.

does this mean the wife is letting you come to orlando in september?

how did you swing it, promise her diamonds?

Apparently the saying be careful what you wish for really is true as HHN has been announced to start officially on my birthday this year. Here is my dilemma, I will be converting a 1 day 2 park ticket to a Power Pass & don't know if that day will be long sold out by then or not or if I could even get a Stay & Scream ticket with a Power Pass. The solution would be to buy my tickets in advance & that would be an option if I wasn't waiting for an official announcement on Penn & Teller's involvement with HHN. I am a HUGE P&T fan & upon hearing the rumor of their inclusion, I got very excited & hopeful that the dates would work out so I could finally see them & finally(hopefully) meet them afterwards. Now i'm left wondering if the rumor is coming true & in that time the tickets for my birthday might sell out. I am looking for some advice here on what to do, i'm pulling my hair out at the thought that I have a real shot of seeing P&T(or a creation of theirs) in person & I might not get the chance because I have to wait until it is officially confirmed. Ugh, decisions decisions. Help is definitely needed & appreciated! TIA!

I have never known HHN to sell out on opening weekend and I've been going opening weekend for the past six years. This will be my ninth HHN overall so I can't wait! Express Plus passes can possibly sell out...but not regular admission tickets. I don't know where you heard that HHN might sell out opening weekend but that's not true.

I don't believe you can get discounts with the Power Pass for HHN so S & S would be the way to go. HHN tickets at the S & S discount are available to anyone who has purchased theme parks tickets.

The best for you to do right now is to wait until the details are officially released later this summer...then you can figure out what you want to do. Until then...don't sweat it.

Can you actually buy HHN Tickets online?
If so please post a link, as I searched the web and did not find it.

We will be staying at portofino bay oct 27 leaving on the 31st. I already booked and got an american express discount.

Do I need to purchase HHN tickets before we get there? We went last year oct 22nd and we just purchased tickets the day of..what should be our plan of attack with it being the last weekend

You can purchase tickets online but they haven't been made available yet. I doubt the website will be fully released until mid to late July. Keep checking back.

Stay and Scream is when you are in the park before closing and have a valid HHN for that night. You are allowed to stay in the park in a special holding area while the park is set up. Then you are released into the park about 30 minutes ahead of the general public. You will be able to do three or four houses before the lines start to back up. It's great and make sure you take advantage if you can.

You won't need to purchase before you arrive...you could wait. The last Sunday night is very busy but remember...you can purchase your HHN tickets any time after you've purchased theme park tickets. As long as you have your theme park tickets, the HHN tickets would be available at the Stay & Scream discount. So...if you're going to one of the parks on Wednesday...for example you could purchase your HHN ticket at that time for Sunday night. Then make sure you're in the Studios park before it closes so you can do S & S.

Ah okay we did the stay and scream last time but i didnt realize that was what is was called.

2 quick ?s

1. So if I decide to purchase tickets before I get to universal how would they know I already have tickets/staying on site do you just call and add it on your reservation.

2. Second I have cousins who live in florida who will be joining us they are not staying onsite at a universal hotel. Can I purchase them tickets or would they have to wait outisde the park to gain entrance can they do stay and scream? how would that work?

1. HHN tickets are separate so it won't matter if you're staying onsite or not. You can only get the tickets at the S & S discount if you prove you have a valid AP or theme park tickets...since the discount an add on, you would need to have the ticket numbers handy.

2. They would be better off getting their tickets with the FL resident discount since there are no other discounts other than S & S, AP discount and FL resident rates. You would not be able to purchase tickets for them at any kind of reduced rate unless you have an annual pass...nor could they purchase tickets for you at the FL resident rate.

If they can get into the Studios prior to closing, they are welcome to do S & S but otherwise they would have to wait outside the main gates.

You might want to consider purchasing an AP for the hotel and ticket discounts...just a thought. ;)

1.
if you buy park tickets from UO online, you'll get a confirmation email with the order number.

if you want to buy hhn tickets in advance, once they are released, you can call, give your previous order # in order to qualify for the discounted "stay and scream" or "add on" hhn tickets.

for example.
you bought a mulitday pass or a one day ticket from the UO online store in March 2012.

prices for hhn tickets are released and posted online on July 21, 2012.

call and give your order number for the March purchase you made.
the TM will look that order number up to confirm you do have day park tickets.
you will then be allowed to buy the discounted stay and scream hhn tixs.

if you bought your UO park tickets from a 3rd party vendor, you can still buy the discounted/stay and scream, hhn ticket.

you would need to make this purchase in the park.
go to guest services, show your day park ticket and then buy the hhn discounted ticket for that night's hard ticket event.

the add on/ stay and scream ticket is to encourage those in the park that day to stay for the evening event.
there are many peeps in the park that are not aware of the hard ticket event.
they are in the park that day and see the info about hhn that will be that night.
they can add on another ticket to allow them to stay that night then.

if you are in the park before closing at 5:00, you can stay in the park at a holding area.
you are released into the park approximately 30 minutes once security gives the "all clear" to the staff. you can do 3 of the houses easily before the gates open at 6:30 for the general admission.

if you do not want to wait in the park at the holding area, we call this the stay and scream area, you can leave the park when it closes.

you then can use your hhn ticket by standing in line to enter the park at 6:30.

that line outside the gate will be long.........
if you can, utilize the stay and scream holding area by staying in the park when it closes.

2.
anyone can buy the hhn tickets.
if your cousins have a day ticket and are in the park, they can wait in the stay and scream holding area.

in order to go to the stay and scream holding once the park is closing, you have to be in the park.

if the cousins are not in the park that day, they will have to stand in line outside the gate to enter the park for hhn at 6:30.

Here comes my problem.
I have booked the Orlando Flex ticket at an german TA. How can I prove it to get the SS-Tickets?
Or am I only able to buy them when I get there?

No diamonds, but lots of help with house chores... :scared:

So when do the AP discounts come out for Sept? In July?

Cheers!

If you just need to purchase the stay and scream tickets then all you have to do is show your orlando flex ticket to get the stay and scream discount.
