I read the newsletter that was just e-mailed, but I'm having trouble pulling up the new Interval International info that is referred to (58 new resorts). Can anyone else access this? What info did it give about Hershey, PA - did it mention a specific location?

It is for Vaction Club and Resort of Hershey. I looked at this building from the outlet center in Hershey. From the outside it looked nice. www.hersheyvacations.com is the site for the place.

It is RIGHT next to the oulet Center in Hershey which is right next to the Hershey Park.

Thanks for the link - one more question - do you think you have to exchange for an entire week though at the Hershey location?

I'm pretty sure most Interval International exchanges are for a full week.

I don't see where they have laid out the 58 new options but I guess they have just added them to the exisiting ones. It seems that there are several other new ones in the "Eastern USA". One that caught my eye is the Flagship Resort in Atlantic City. This is an additional option to the Marriot Seaview that we had before.

I think so. oops dbond beat me to the punch (again ;) )

It is bad for me, because Hershey is a nice place for my DW and I to go to for a weekend or long weekend. It is only 5 hrs or so from us, and we liked that Hershey/Harrisburg area every time we have been there. We have gone for a weekend trip the past two summers. Two years ago for a soccer game against our local team, and last year for a DIS meet.

I would love to get just a night or two there using our points.

I know it would be a "waste", but is there any reason we can't book a whole week and then only use part of it? I assume we'd have to check-in on the start date but we could leave early, right? Any II experts know of any reason this couldn't be done if we are willing to forfeit the points?

To further on Pam's question, can we use part of it and then have a different family member checkin and finish up the reservation, rather than "waste" the points - experts once again?!

I only live 2 hours from hershey. Great place to go for one or two nites!! However I cannot see spending a whole week there!! Just a word of caution.

PanFan - I know what you mean - but we did spend four great days there because we also spent a couple days doing things in Pennsylvania Dutch country - horse and buggy tours, the amazing corn maze (or something like that) was too much fun for the kids (available seasonally, once the corn grows high enough), etc., etc., we found tons of stuff to do within driving distance and were not ready to leave yet.

that II point chart link won't work for me - keeps bringing me to the main dvc member login screen - I've been trying to access that page and just can't seem to get there! ARGH!

Yes you can use the II and only go for the days you want to. You can check in late - just be sure to call the resort and tell them when you are arriving (so that they kept your room). and you can check out any time you want.

I have a tendency to use the II (getaways) like DVC - I don't stay on the weekends - maybe I should start!

This may be to late for us. I needed "Vacation Club and Resort of Hershey" for June. My DS is getting married in Hershey. We're from Maryland, let me tell you that even a plain hotel room are very expensive in the Hershey area from May through September, $175 - $200 because of the park. Planning a wedding from another state is pretty tough even for the groom's family. The happy couple bought a house in Maryland, near Bel Air. We all need hotel rooms for at least 2 nights. I would have use my points to reserve my cash for the Rehersal Dinner Party - currently at 60 people. Big, big wedding, everyone's from out of town. Bride went to Towson U in MD, sorority sisters form all over all in wedding, relatives from everywhere.

If you find out that you can reserve for a few days, please post.

I agree that some of the II exchanges would be nice, but not for 7 days (discussion previously regarding Williamsburg, VA).

What if a member booked an exchange (say to Hershey) for the week, then posted it on the R&T board to see if someone would be available to split the week (obviously not a 50-50 split) and transfer their points over to the member who booked it.

I don't know if what I'm saying makes sense and I'm sure there will be all sorts of explanations why this can't be done. Just wondering if a situation like this has ever been presented to MS?

I really wish we could get some "nightly" options added to the concierge collection for those of us from PA. The Hotel Hershey would be a lovely choice, or (my dream) Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. We need somewhere we could drive to for a weekend getaway. I agree, a week in Hershey is a bit too much IMHO unless you are planning to day trip to other parts of the state.

I could not find the dates for the "seasons". Anyone know what dates for low, mid and high? TIA

Just an FYI...I've divided up my II stays with other people (family/friends) every time I've traded. Now I wasn't using DVC to exchange but I don't see why it would make a difference.

Glad to hear there is a Hershey II....I've got extra weeks I need to use up.

By the way...I'd consider buying a resale property somewhere else for the purpose of trading through II rather than trading my DVC property in for almost anything in the continental us. But that's my opinion. Other timeshares can be had dirt cheap resale.

I also checked out this timeshare in late December when we were in Hershey. As much as I like the Hershey area, I would find it hard to give up a WHOLE week of DVC to stay there.

I just spent three fabulous days with friends (no hubbys or children....YAY!) at the Spa at the Hotel Hershey. We went to the outlets one day and I saw the timeshare, it looks nice from the outside. However, I cannot see spending an entire week in the Hershey area. It is ashame that we can't do a few days at that resort, instead of an entire week. OR better yet, it would have been better to be able to exchange at the Hotel Hershey....and get pampered in a European spa!!! (believe me, it was heaven!!!!!)
