I haven’t been looking at resale sites in a while (we definitely have enough points at the moment) but my mom sent me a listing so I was curious about where market is. Without naming resorts, I saw lots of listings in the, call it $115-125 context, and then one oddball listed for $280! Not a small/unusual contract, and what’s more it’s ABOVE the current direct price and more than $100 over everyone else. Either the buyers are completely naive or there is something nefarious going on, because why else would you list so far from market and why would an agent ever agree to such terms? It’s clearly a waste of everyone’s time and resources.

I was half tempted to bid $80 and say that the listing must have been a typo, but I really don’t want to win the contract just in case.

Only the broker and the seller know why it’s there and if the broker listed it, then they must not care it sits there

Only persons time it’s wasting are those two and obviously if it’s there, and not an error, both are okay with it not selling.

One thing it could be…is between owners going through divorce and one doesn’t want it to actually get sold and the other can’t set the price.

Sad that it may be a result of divorce, but that makes sense to me.

It reminds me of the listings you'll see sometimes for buying resale sports stadium tickets - the oddball out there for $2,000 when all the others are $100-$150! I guess if they get someone to pay, awesome! But really seems like a waste of time......

I'm willing to bet it's a case of a divorce where one party doesn't want to sell. The other person probably has zero knowledge about DVC. Ihad a friend who was divorcing and her husband didn't want to sell the plane. They went through all kinds of drama to finally get it listed at a realistic price.
