Hershey, PA option

If anyone wants more detailed information about lodging in the Hershey area, let me know. I live in the Harrisburg area, You may want to try the Marriot, Holiday Inn East or Wydahm. They are all on the Hershey side of Harrisburg, maybe 10 -15 minutes to the park, right down rt 322. Also the vaction club on the other side of the outlets is right there, but you would still have to drive to the park, as the park entrance is on the opposite side, if that makes sense. It would be a 15- 20 min walk along a highway to walk it.
I will probably be down to get my Hershey season pass this weekend. If any one wants more info, kbsams@msn.com

If this is the timeshare Hershey Vacations we have stayed there the last two years ( on cash basis) when we have gone to Hershey Park. The resort is nice, but I too would caution against staying there for a week. The rooms are nice. They are all two bedroom/two bath and have plenty of space. There is a small pool, with the jacuzzi built in the middle of it, and a gazebo nearby. The exercise room is also small, it had just a few aerobic machines. The had a nice little playset located behind the building. They were just recently purchased and they are trying to expand. We sat through thier presentation, and almost bought because they allow you to split your week into 3/4 day stays. They are clean and the staff is friendly, I would recommend staying there on cash, but I would not use my Disney points.

I also live near Hershey and have used some of the hotels in the area to book sport tournament rooms. As Kimber mentioned the hotels in the Harrisburg area are convienent to Hershey. Another one that is often overlooked is the Holiday Inn near Grantville. It is called Holiday Inn Hershey and is just a short drive to HP.

A timeshare in Hershey? I remember the day when they didn't allow anything (chains restaurants or hotels) there. The Hershey drug store was the place to go for the most wonderful sundaes!! We lived there for four years while my husband went to Penn State. Wonderful place to visit for a few days but a week would be pushing it. Hotel Hershey is phenomenal and would be a wonderful addition to the concierge collection.

Did you get the spa treatment where they cover you with chocolate goop? I saw this on a segment on the Travel Channel. It was at the Hotel Hershey Spa, and I thought, "I'd love to be covered in chocolate someday before I die!"

Hershey is a fun place and a lovely, clean amusement park. It's a shame the current offering is "7 nights only." A weekend package at the Hotel Hershey (chocolate wrap included!) would be wonderful.
