I am really interested to see what kind of responses I get to this question. I have never been to WDW, and have no idea what people are talking about when they say Disney Magic. What would be your definition? Thank you!

It is the time you spend with your family and friends and the memories of that time spent together.

Let me put it to you this way, say you went to disney by yourself and stayed at the most expensive room they have available, ate at the most expensive restaurants they have, and walked around the parks all by yourself the entire time, versus stayed at a lessor resort ate at cheaper restaurants and had the best time on the rides and walking around with your family and friends, which would you choose. Disney Magic is what you make of your trip the time, fun and memories you create with those you love.:)

Its that feeling in my stomach when I see the signs heading toward my hotel. Its that warmth when the security guard at the hotel gate says "Welcome Home". Its the feeling I get when I stand under the train station and look down Main Street again.

Its also the look on my daughter's face when she see's Cinderella or looks up at Sully and tells him she loves him. :)

Its about being at a place with 50,000 other people and not seeing any trash. Or having the ducks swim at the hotel pools. Its just all of it.

*Seeing the looks on my kids' faces the first time they turned the corner onto main street and saw Cinderella's Castle!

*DH having a birthday cake brought out to him by Mickey himself, then laughing with the kids when Mickey stuck frosting on DH's nose!

*Having every CM we encountered be friendly and helpful -- where else do you get that?!

*Other parks have characters -- they walk around, wave, and hug a kid or two. BUT, they don't have -- Cinderella who made my DS 9 blush by hugging him, Peter Pan who made my shy DS 10 smile by teasing him, Eeyore who made DD's face light up by playing peek-a-boo with her, Chip and Dale who left the meet-and-greet area to pay special attention to my shy DS who was watching from afar, just to name a few. The characters at Disney are incomparable to those anywhere else, they really love what they do and it shows!

It's when you are standing at the beginning of Main Street looking at Cinderella's castle and just at that moment nothing else matters, you forget what day it is, what time it is...you enjoy every moment. It is an unbelievable feeling that everyone should experience. I try to experience it with my DD (now 7) every three years, we are headed back in two years.

Disney Magic is walking into the Magic Kingdom with your child, and seeing the look on her face as she sees Cinderella's Castle for the first time. Nothing else in the world matters at that moment! princess:

It is not only seeing the look on your children's face's
looking down Main street(which of course is priceless)but I will never forget my parents first reaction. My dad was so moved he could not even take a picture because he was so emotional the first time they came with us.

The magic never ends!

Disney Magic is the smile that comes to MY face as I walk down Main Street & see the castle.

It's watching the smiles on my 6 kids faces all week!

Watching my 17 & 15 yr old DD's smile when my "little princess" DD (5) sees ANY princess.

It was watching my kids hunt for Tinkerbell when the meet Peter Pan one afternoon in MK...then having my then 3 yr old DD say "we left her home in the kennel!!" She meant our 180 lb English Mastiff dog named Tinkerbell!!!

It's having the maids give the stickers to the kids in the morning & having the kids smile.

It's hearing the Electric Water Pagaent go by the poly at night...seeing water buffolo in the morning...& SOOO much more!!

Just as someone else posted... For us...It's the obvious loss of TIME, DATE, SPACE, etc. Where we simply "LOSE OURSELVES" in the elements of the MAGIC. We escape the GRIND each summer, as soon as we touch down in Orlando. From that moment, until we return home, we are completely REMOVED from the normal "day-to-day" requirements of LIFE~! DH and I constantly laugh/delight over the fact we have NO CONCEPT of time, day...etc., nor any DESIRE for such. We never wear a watch, and completely immerse ourselves in the luxury of VACATION. It's, like WALT himself stated: "The most MAGICAL PLACE on EARTH"...where adults can truly be CHILDREN. And we all know...children are FREE~SPIRITED! They could CARE LESS about time, dates, deadlines and BILLS! They are simply HAPPY...to "BE."

Enjoy!!

You came to the right place for answers.

Disney Magic is an all-encompassing feeling. You are SURROUNDED by magic from the moment you drive onto the property. POOF! The ugly green road signs, telephone pole wires, and junky advertising disappear. Instead you see black and purple road signs (complete with mouse ears on the top I might add), beautiful landscaping, no wires to speak of....just beauty!! Then, on to your resort where you're greeted and served by the best staff (better known as Cast Members) on the planet. Disney service is unsurpassed. Everything is so clean and pristine. It's the little things that make the magic - you read stories all the time about how a CM made a trip special for a family. Then, the theming. You're immersed in a wonderland of fantasy - an escape from the real world. And last but not least, Disney has a way of tugging at your heartstrings through music, great stories and that equals Magic!

To summarize: Top of the line entertainment, great themed resorts to satisfy any taste, the best staff, a beautiful place...need I say more.

All this equals not only magic but great memories with your loved ones.

 That is SO true! We had a rental but never wanted to leave Disney property. It was "instant stress" as soon as we left Disney and saw all the neon signs and billboards! Next time we aren't even renting a car!

The Disney Magic is expressed very eloquently by everyone, but you have to experience it for yourself to understand it. The minute you arrive you know you are in a different state of mind, everything takes a back place, and you reconnect with your family. You are never too old to experience this Magic, and once you do you are hooked forever. I can't wait to go back, February 05 here we come.

It's nearly everything that is wonderful about Disney. It's being able to return over and over again, and still enjoy it just as much; still have shivers run down your spine when you see the castle for the first time on your trip, or hear the "Please stand clear of the doors" line after you first step on the monorail. Disney magic is what makes it possible to escape the real world. We went in Feb 2002, just a few months after September 11. Sure we knew that the attacks had happened, but aside from the bag checks (which are quick and painless compared to at the airports), WDW was the same place it had been the last time we had visited. Everyone was having just as much fun, and was just as carefree. Leaving the park each day, and returning to our offsite hotel brought us back into the real world, but while on Disney property, in some ways it feels as if the bad stuff can't reach you. Of course sometimes it does, but the magic really helps people escape what's going on.
Besides, where else can you go where it's perfectly acceptable for grown men to skip around with characters, for teenagers to be seen having fun with their parents, and where the employees, are, for the most part, just as happy to be at Disney as you are? THAT is magic.

For me, it's the amazing attention to detail - the sound of tap dancing and piano lessons from the upstairs windows on Main Street, the sparkling lights in the pavement in Future World, the claw marks on the floor inside the Country Bear Jamboree, Fire Rock Geyser at the Wilderness Lodge. I could go on and on about the tiny little things that mean so much to us!

Also, it's about remembering and reliving every single thing that is wonderful about childhood - family, holidays, Disney movies, a belief in magic, the thrill of discovering something new, having no worries, being somewhere that is totally familiar and comforting, being in a place where you feel loved, etc. - all rolled into one incredible feeling.

Perhaps, the most magical thing for me, is seeing my very serious husband relaxed and acting like a child. And this is from a guy who told me, "I don't really get Disney," before I dragged him along for the first time. Now we're taking our baby for his first trip in May and DH is more excited than I am!

Wow!! What a great question!

For us, the magic is in the little details that only Disney provides. The cm's are a great part of the magic, IMO. They go out of their way to make your visit "magical." From greeting you wherever you go (one year, at the Poly, we arrived on a day that was the only time during our visit for the MK fireworks - each cm we met reminded the guests "fireworks at 9 p.m.!") to the little touches in your resort room, the cm's make your vacation special.

And, as previously stated, we get excited the moment we see those Mickey-ear signs for WDW! Once inside the MK, the feeling you get from smelling Main Street Bakery and looking at all the smiling people gazing at the castle, you just can't get anywhere else. The emotions you feel when you watch Wishes or Illuminations, the comraderie for your fellow man, that's magic!! We lose track of the real world, for just a little while, and become a kid again.

In Mr. Disney's words

"I don't want the public to see the world they live in while they're in the Park. I want them to feel they're in another world."

And my favorite quote

"It has that thing - the imagination, and the feeling of happy excitement- I knew when I was a kid."

The magic of disney is everything everyone has stated and more! It has been four years since our last trip, and we still laugh and talk about it. There is not a detail that is missed. We have been on many family vacations, but disney is the one we talk about the most. You think you are there for the kids, until you are face to face with Mickey, and you are transported magically to your childhood again. That's part of the magic of disney for me!

Walt Disney was a filmmaker and dreamer. When you are watching a movie in a theater or on TV, you are still in the "real world."

When you step into a Disney theme park or resort, you almost feel like you are inside a movie. This is the Disney magic for me.

It's simple if you take the time to Let IT Happen.
Next trip to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom after getting off the monorail and before going to the turnstyle, turn around and walk to the waterfront away from the enterance, stand directly in the middle between the Resort Launch Docks.
Turn and face the enterance where you will see the face of Mickey and the Train Station , Then Just Listen.
You have to stay there 5 minutes , a life time for some people, those people wouldn't understand the Magic!
By the way, as we stand there we look down at our feet where our names appear on one of bricks in the "Walk Around the World".
At the end of the night at the MK, 15 minutes before the closing of the park, go to the second floor of the Train Station and stand in the middle against the railing quietly looking down Main St. toward Ciderella's Castle,
Stay there until the cast members tell you to leave.
Just Take "IT" all in.
"ENJOY!!!"
"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!
