Here's my 9.5 foot long Disney Layout!

WOW! Totally love this idea - definately have a space I can do this at.

LOVE your photos, you really took some unique ones! I've been to WDW eleven times, and I don't recognize the one of the sign that says "Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy". Where is that? I'd love to have a photo of it.

Also - totally love Mickey, Pluto and Donald holding your name. Did you make those?

Thanks so much for sharing!

thanks everyone for your nice comments! Feel free to scraplift - it's a great way to relive your Disney memories (or whatever theme you put up) every day!

Twingle, if you PM me your email address, I can send that pic to you. If I remember correctly, that sign is at the entrance of magic Kingdom. Yep, I just looked through my pics and it is in with MK pics, so it must be from there. :)

Also, the Mickey, Pluto, and Donald with my name - DH did that. I cut out the paper templates with my Cricut, and he took them and created this with a little wood (the letters are fancy guitar wood - quilted maple) and his fancy saws. :worship: Pretty awesome, huh?

Is that the fancy Man Cricut, or just regular wood working tools?
there is a machine out there that cuts woods just like a cricut.

It's just a scroll saw. I have heard about that machine but we haven't found it yet. Do you have a website where we can see it?

My husband has done some looking and the machine that cuts wood is more like a craftrobo that he has looked at- it doesn't have cartridges you draw what you want it to cut in your program.

I'm painting my scrap room in the spring.....& this idea is SO MUCH on my list!!!!

Thanks for sharing

great idea

I told you this on the cricut board, but I just love this! I wish I had a scrap room so I could do something like this! And thanks for the info on the shapes with your name thing. I was really curious about it. :)

It's when you enter Magic Kingdom. Here's my pic of the sign:

Just wanted to share this huge project I recently completed.

this is the wall above my scrap area. Now I can look at the pics I love while doing the hobby I love!

this was a couple of big firsts for me - first 9.5 foot layout, first time building a layout on the wall (I put the paper up first, then added everything to it.).... I added a piece of 12x12 chipboard to the back of each piece of black cardstock, so if I ever need to take them down, I can do it without ruining them. and if I dont' want them on the wall anymore, they can go right into a scrapbook.

there's not a lot of embellishments, I really wanted it to be about the pictures and the memories of the trip.

the first pic is the whole thing, then a few sections at a time, then each individual panel.

thanks for looking!

I don't mind at all! I'd love to see pics when you're done :)

for tips, the only thing I can really think of is to go through and pic out your absolute favorite pics, and then weed out about half of them! :lmao: I seriously don't even think I used half of the pics I thought I was going to be able to fit on there. I even used a good variety of sizes, including quite a few wallet sized pics, in order to be able to fit more.

Other than that, I put the paper on the wall first, and then I had two pieces of black cardstock on the table in front of me. I would plan out two pages at a time, and then put the pics up on the wall exactly as I had them laid out on the table.

Good luck!

That is great. What a wonderful way to honor your trip and your work on your pages. Thank for sharing the idea. I can't wait to show DD14 later. We share a small scrapbook room.
