We are 6 days into a 8 night 9 day stay.
I have to say I was a bit nervous about this trip after reading the boards, I was worried about 30-40 min standby ride lines, limited FP+ availability and a glitchy system.

What we have experienced is an amazing vacation.

We take breaks mid day and have found lines at park opening to be almost non existent, same for late nights at MK.

Having MDE means I don't have to waste a FP+ on Dinosaur when I walk up and the standby line is only 10 minutes.

Our best FP+ day so far
Had a FP+ for toy story Mania, switched it for rock and roll roller coaster bc we were the first family on toy story for the day so no FP needed.

Then used FP+ for tower of terror after riding standby 2x with a 10 min wait.

Later that day we arrived at MK at 7pm - between 7-10 we picked up 4 more FP for jungle cruise, pirates of the Caribbean, buzz light year and Splash Mountain.

I know that the app can go down, but personally I love it - so easy to change around FP+ and dining reservations.

Also 7DMT went down during our FP time - doing nothing on my part I received an email notifying me that my FP+ had been replaced with a VIP pass good all day on 7DMT or a number of other attractions.

Ok those are my thoughts for now. I'm just sitting at the pool at CSR and thought I'd share.

was there last week and this was my experience as well. FP+ made it so easy to have a much more relaxing vacation and enjoy the parks with no stress. We did rope drop a couple of mornings, but generally aren't an early waking bunch. It was nice to sleep in, head to the park early afternoon and use fastpasses, back to the hotel for a late afternoon break, then to another park to close it down for the night. Usually we'd make MK the night park, because it was easy to score fastpasses for pretty much anything, one after the other. On the Sunday EMH night, we did all of our favorites multiple times, with no sun and no crazy crowds.

I'm planning a trip for Nov 30-Dec 5 and I'm just getting into MDE online. So far I've had a good experience, too. I'm glad that you're having a great time:goodvibes

Went in January and lived them too. Loved being able to swap them on our phone when needed and everything went smooth.

Splash Mountain went down twice during my trip, on my first day without having a FP+ (right under where the vultures are, so we were walked off the ride and given a FP ticket good until 30th May on any top tier ride) then on the RYDS I also had a VIP pass when Splash mountain went down during my FP+ the was good until 5.59am. Like you I love the new system, I even cancelled an ADR that I changed my mind about using it, so simple no having to call anyone, I just got an email back confirming my cancellation.

I think a lot of the people complaining haven't done their homework or have short memories about the old system, which wasn't that great on reflection, I've said it before, as an older person I never liked the race to get a FP for Soarin' or TSM at rope drop and hoping to get a reasonable time slot. Now, I can decide my time slot and it's still flexible enough to change. Happy days!

I just booked this summer's trip for me and my family on Thursday. I booked through Dreams and just linked my reservation to MDE. I am at 58 days out and got up this morning to figure out this whole FP+ system. I've been able to book fastpasses for our first 2 days. I basically booked the rides we do on the first couple of days. My biggest concern is that if we change anything, we'll probably be screwed in getting another FP. Have you found this to be the case? We are a go-with-the-flow type of family that always park-hops throughout our trip - we just love to be able to be at MK and hop on the monorail to EPCOT at the drop of a hat.
Great post though as it hits the mark on what I'm working on right now!!! Thanks and enjoy the rest of your trip!

jrsj. That is the beauty of FP+. You can change them at anytime, heaven knows how many times I changed mine in the run up, you can even change them during the time slot alloted if you wish, although the closer you get the options become less, but, it was dead simple, especially if you are all linked together as it does it for everyone at the same time. That is where it is streets ahead of the old system, were you got one FP at a time and couldn't change it or have any others which was a pain if you got it at 9.30am for a 4pm slot. And if you miss your slot just cancel it (which you can do on the app or at one of the many FP+ kiosks, they are plentiful) and make a new one instead. Can I just add I am the least techi person out, I can't even work out texts on my cell phone (yes, really I kid you not) yet I have had no problems with the MDE and FP+ apps.

Your last line is very good to see. I have a very low tech cell phone that does NOT text. It is good to know that I can just go over to a kiosk if I need to change a FP+. Thanks for posting! I will be there early December.

Oh believe me I've did my homework and still am doing so.

I tried day of moving my FP+'s around and there was no availability, I'm glad you did but that was not my experience. I also thought the app took forever to load.

Did you cancel your ADR the day of or the day before? We cancelled several lunch TS's because we felt too overscheduled but we had to call. We made them several months ago when they were still working on the system and when we tried to cancel them on MDE we would get a error message.

You didn't like the old system so why do you have so many negative things to say about the people who don't like the new system?

So glad to hear this - our FP+ reservation window opens up on June 14th and I have to admit I was pretty worried. This gives me renewed confidence in the system. My only worry is the Frozen character meet which my DD really wants to do. Fingers crossed for that. We'll be there for 14 nights so hopefully we can get a FP+ for that at least some time during our stay.
