Helpful Information For You Updated 03/30/2012

I have booked this motel for next October but am concerned after reading some current reviews. I have read that new owners took over last spring and the website needs a serious update. I was wondering if Shirley knows anything about Luna Sea and if it still is a nice as I have read in the past.
Thanks....

I forgot to mention that the HUGE Dinosaur store will be opened within a month and you REALLY REALLY need to take the kids AND the adults kids to see it. They are finishing up the landscape and it is going to be awesome.
It will be so interesting and so much history to take in and besides that if the kids are bored etc, what a way to intertain them.
Will keep you posted.
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS AGAIN
me

Shirley,

Could you please tell me more about the Dinosaur Store? It will definitely be somewhere that DD will want to visit.

Thanks!

Does anone know, if you stay at the Radisson & get the shuttle service, do they have certain times they shuttle, or can they shuttle you whenever you're ready to go?

We were able to book the shuttle when we made the reservation in 2005. I believe that it was 10 months our or so, V. We booked the 10 am shuttle, which was the first one they had at the time. You do want to book specific times or you may have to wait for the first available spot.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE AND MAY IT BE A GREAT YEAR FOR EVERYONE

OK now first things first - the Dinosaur Store was suppose to open last month, but it appears now that they are shooting for sometime this month.
I just came from there and all the landscaping is being complete. This is going to be quite the place to take the family to visit. It is huge and decorated with huge dinosaur bones and Egyptian guards on the back corners of the building. Its too interesting to describe.

Now the Luna Seas still appears super nice - you have to remember that all the hotels here have code enforcement show up all during the month so they have to keep all the facilites up to code or they would be closed up before they can open their mouths. I really don't believe you will have any problems, but you can always speak to the GM in charge for I have found them to always try to do good by their guest especially if you tell them you are off this board.
Now as for the shuttle at the Radisson, I will get an email off to Joe and found out exactly the times etc - its best to schedule as soon as you register and if you have ANY TYPE OF PROBLEMS, have front desk call for Joe P. the GM ----he is a super duper guy.
Hope this will help as far as information goes
As Always

Shirley, Thanks so much for your info on Luna Sea. I think I am going to stick with it; it looks like a quaint little place. Also, we can't wait to get back to Cocoa Beach to check out the Dinosaur Store/Museum. Sounds really neat.
Thanks again for all of your input on disboards!

OK I just spoke to Lorraine at Luna Seas and for right now they do NOT have an email address. She requested that anyone can call at anytime and the staff will be more than happy to help anyone with questions.

Hope that will help

I have added some more restaurants and more information on the board - dressed it up a little and hope it will help those that are in need of information.

PS LOOKS LIKE I FINALLY RAN OUT OF SPACE SO I MAY HAVE TO ADD ALL THE KEY WEST INFORMATION HERE AND LIST IT ON THE FIRST PAGE AS A LINK.

Good morning, I have posted this information on the first page on Thrifty/Dollar
UPDATE 01/06/2009
Due to the overbooking of 12/27/2008, I am suggesting that somehow get a written guarantee on Thrifty/Dollar that you will be notified that there are no cars available. I do NOT know if this can be done,
but until I heard from the Higer Ups, I am a little hesitate to add any more recommendations for Thrifty/Dollar
If anyone else has a problem, please let me know ASAP.

ALSO on The Perfect Gift website, my son Michael will have it completed next week. You can call the shop still (and better) if you are interested in different types of gift baskets or go to search since many cruisers have taken pictures of all the things we do offer for kids and adults.

Thanks for your patience and kindness
As always

Hello!
We are sailing on the Magic in February. One of the members of our travel party experiences some mobility issues related to MS. My travel agent found a place called Brevard Medical Equimpent - they rent medical equipment and deliver to the ship/pick-up after the cruise, including walkers, wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc... We are looking at renting one of the walkers with wheels to have on hand in case the +++ walking on the cruise becomes tiring - has anyone had any experience with this company? Do they have a good reputation in the area? I've searched the thread for the company, but nothing comes up - this may actually be a first for this question!?;)
Thanks in advance for your input!

We were told that we need to book a shuttle time--that way, there will be a seat for us in the shuttle and space in the luggage thingy for our stuff.

You might want to consider a wheelchair for the ship. There is a lot of walking! I have a friend who buys used wheelchairs when they have been donated to Goodwill--she purchases them and then donates them to churches and places that might not realize that they need to have them available (my friend has mobility issues but is not in a chair for day to day activities). You might even look at purchasing a used one and taking it on the plane (no charge) and then having it just in case.....

There are chairs available on the ship for medical needs, but they are not a courtesy item (at least not the ones from the health center).

Here is the link you were looking for and yes they have been around more years than I can count and great with their clients.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Brevard Medical Equipment (will deliver and pick up all types of medical equipment needed including wheelchairs, Oxygen etc
to all cruise ships
91 E. Merritt Island Causeway AKA hiway 520
Merritt Island, Fla

Also the idea about getting a chair and then donating it is great although, picking it up would be an issue - anytime anyone wants to donate anything,
Please remember the Humane Society thrift shop in Merritt Island. I have donated stuff there for quite sometime and now I do it in memory of a young German Shepard, Ella, who was left in her cage to die since she was put there without any food and water. Its a good cause.

Thanks so much for the follow-up, Shirley. It seemed like a great service when I was on their website, but it's nice to know it also has the "local seal of approval". :-)
Thanks again for all you do - this thread is great! 50 pages of posts and this was the only question we had (in 10 months of planning) that wasn't already answered somewhere else in the thread. You're the best!!
Thanks again!

I am wanting to stay at one of the hotels close to the Port for one night. It would be for 2 adults, 2 children and we would need to be shuttled to the port. I am a federal government employee, do you know if any of these hotels offer a cruise package for a discounted government rate?
