Shirley, there are a couple more romantic restaurants if anyone wants to travel to Cocoa Village (I see you have that listed).
Cafe Margaux http://www.margaux.com/
Ulysses Prime Steakhouse http://www.ulyssesprimesteakhouse.com/

Another place of interest may be the Merrit Island National Wildlife Refuge : http://www.fws.gov/merrittisland/

Thanks Miss Jasmine - I love Margaux and it a five star plus French restaurant - I though that I had added the wildlife refuge - will have to check.
Can you think of anything else we can add to make it easier on folks coming here?
Always

Ohhh maybe I missed the refuge since you had it listed as a wildlife park. Ooops.

I have my thinking cap on. We are preparing for the German flights in November so this thread has been making me think about info for that, and the preparation for the flights has made me think about info for this thread. :thumbsup2

I can often catch the ships in port along with carnival cruise ships on Sundays. It can be a hit and miss.

Maybe I am looking to hard but you mention that you have oceanfront hotels listed where can I find those?

The "Oceanfront" hotels are almost all of those that are located on the East side of Cocoa Beach, starting with Ron Jon Resort and ending with Ocean Landings. You have to remember that we are in a "hurricane" alley so most of the hotels are built with the rooms facing North and South BUT rooms are available with beautiful views of the ocean. The reasons behind why the hotels are built this way is so that the blunt of a hurricane coming in from either the front or the back, the damage is not so hard even though it didn't make a difference in 2004 for most of all our hotels suffered horrible destruction and some took months and months before they could reopen also with a hurricane, sand is blown off the beaches and it takes a toll on clogging up keyholes and anything and everything in its pass. It feels as though you are being sandblasted and there have been times we looked like a war zone. I know during the 2004, we couldn't open our door due to the impact of sand not only in the key slots, but even our windows took a beating and we are a 5 stores high condo. When you make your reservations, you can ask for the oceanview rooms and believe me to sit out on the balcony with a drink in your hand and feeling the breeze off the ocean, is so soothing and relaxing.

The only hotel that I know of that is directly on the ocean is The Inn of Cocoa Beach and it is a quaint beautiful motel which is also a mom and pop place.
Anyhow hope that helps with your question and if I can be of further help,
please let me know.

Thank you Shirley! And, yes, this thread has been very helpful! In fact, I have printed it off and carried it around the house all weekend quoting from it and driving my DH crazy!:rotfl:

We are cruising in October and coming in a few days early to enjoy the beach and some "down" time and then staying the night after we get back into the port - so you have given us some great info. Many, many thanks!

I think she is refering to her graphic of the Appliance Direct guy in her signature.
Also I'd like to point out that Kelsey's, Thai Thai, and Zacarhy's are in Cape Canaveral.

I just noticed you are from Cape Canaveral - so you can be an awesome help on this thread.
It finally dawned on me what she meant - a reminder to order baskets or I could be wrong again :rotfl2:
