Hi! We will be staying at CBR for the first time this Aug. We have stayed at ASMU and the Contemporary in the past. Where can I find a list of the bus transportation/ how to get from CBR to ? routes? I do not want to assume anything, and after being *spoiled* ;) at the Contemporary/ monorail...just trying to figure out what to expect. For example, if we wanted to go to the boardwalk one evening, where do I find which bus/busses I need to take and how long of a trip it is. Or if we have PS for Chef Mickeys for breakfast, how I have no idea how I would get to the Contemporary...go to MK first and walk a/o monorail it from there?Since I will have a million "what if's" I was hoping to find a schedule or route.
Thank you!
Also, we had ASMO for FTP, bur DH decided to go moderate, but it will be DS 9th b-day...do you think we goofed by not keeping the ASMO in the eyes of an 8/9 year old?

Buses go to the theme parks and DTD. There is a special am character breakfast bus that will get you to the contemporary.

Easiest way to get to Boardwalk is to take a bus to MGM (asumming they're open) then walk or take the boat.

I was told there no longer is a character breakfast bus. We used that last summer, and it was great. This year, we had a really bad transporation morning at All Star Sports -- worst we've ever experienced in seven stays at six different resorts -- and the people behind us in line were very worried that they were going to miss their character breakfast at the poly.

That's interesting. I was shocked when I made a PS at Ohana for breakfast and was told to allow 1 1/2 hours for transportation if going from resort to resort. Hhhmm, the buses don't run at 6:30am:p

if you go to the Transportation Board, there's a very helpful Transportation CM who is on a lot. His name is Tyler and his DIS username is Chip 'N Dale Express.

Alright... this is how Caribbean Beach works.

There are 7 bus stops within the resort, and two entrances. Buses can start at one of three different "Island" bus stops.

Martinique (A side start point)
Old Port Royale (Food Court)
Trinidad North
Trinidad South (C side start point)
Jamaica (B side start point
Aruba
Barbados (Custom House/Check-in)

The Internal Resort Shuttle starts service at 8:00am, and circles around CBR providing shuttle service to all the islands.

Buses are dispatched in the standard 15-20 minute intervals. Actual arrival time may vary. CBR is a "Magic On Demand" resort, which means that the buses are dispatched on a demand basis. If the demand increases, so do the amount of buses that go through the resort. Bus transportation is provided to all four theme parks, both water parks, and Downtown Disney. Theme park and Water park service starts 45 mins prior to the park opening. DTD service begins at 8:45.

As for Character Breakfast buses... I'm going to have to get back to you on that one... There has been no mention within the department in any of the "Bus Crewz Newz" daily breifings about the discontinuation of the Character Breakfast buses... however, WDW-RIDE is telling me they have been. Of course, WDW-RIDE is no longer staffed by people wearing purple pants... so I'll need to speak with a manager tomorrow to verify. (No one readily available at 2:41am... lol)

Hey Tyler! Thanks again! I am smiling about those purple pants! So I may need to add about an hour to my travel times eh? I saw your thread about the "trial" busses of ASMO having their own....I am really worried that we goofed by switching over to CBR. What...no one working at 2:30 A.M.? ;) SLACKERS......:p Please PM me and put my fears at rest about the transportation! I know you guys are worked like crazy, and I LOVE the WDW trans. NEVER use a car when we are there...but have heard some really unhappy comments about CBR.:(

In all honesty, I really wouldn't worry about the buses. It's not impossible for a service issue to pop up, but in reality, they are few and far between. But of course, they're always the ones you hear most about.
