wow! that's a great trip you have planned! where did you stay off-site? I have a child with some special needs- including a bunch of food allergies, so a kitchen is pretty much non-negotiable for us. (still waiting for 10/1-10/2 to match for us! or else we will be sleeping in the lobby that night!)
I hope the hawaii cruise is really nice! I looked at that one too, but when the Magic was announced to be in NY, we opted for that for 2012. So we have the 3 2nighters to nowhere reserved and 2 canadian cruises reserved. Hubby's in a panic!!! I don't expect to do all 5- I'm thinking 2 of the 2 nighters and 1 canadian....all with no airfare- AND, the 2 nighters will be just he and I (no kids). We almost did an alaskan cruise-- but my parents bailed out at the last minute, plus the air from NY to Vancouver was pretty steep. Without other adults, it just makes it financially crazy with 3 kids to pay for them as adults (the 1st and 2nd cruisefare in the 2nd cabin). The mexican riviera was a different pricing structure for us, so it was "ok" that we have 5 people in 2 cabins. We tried the Family stateroom once, but that price is insane too and there is so much more room with 2 connecting cabins. Do you have children?
Our Oct 2 thread is verrrryyyyy long! I haven't had time to read it all! But you've done a great job keeping everyone motivated!
As there is only the two of us and neither of us fancies cooking while on vacation, we have only ever stayed in normal hotels. I understand that your situation is different though. When we first went to Disneyland, we stayed at the Heritage Inn in La Habra. The second time round we stayed at a Ramada on Katella, which was about a 10 minute drive from Disneyland and the last time we stayed at the Radisson Maingate, which has since changed name.
Hawaii has been a big dream for me for a long time and once DCL announced the cruise, we just knew that we had to book this. As we live in the UK, Hawaii is just to far for us to fly to. Los Angeles is about as far as I am willing to fly. Alaska is also on our wish list. I can't wait to see what DCL has in stock for 2013.
