You don't, but the check doesn't come until after you are paid off and closed. I bought in UY24, took advantage of MB, but my final payment was about 20 days into UY25.

My guide at the time seemed pretty insistent that we needed to close before end of use year. But it didn't sound like she had been there long (and we got a message that she left soon after). So she may not have been fully updated on the requirements
