I am looking ahead to our DVC trip next April and its looks like we will be going during school vacation week in Mass. Can anyone who bought flights this year post their fares so I can get an idea of what we will pay? At this point the fares are sky high to compare. I am hoping to fly JetBlue and buy tickets asap when they are released.Depending on what date our PAP expires will determine which day we fly out on. Thanks in advance!!!::MinnieMo

Wow, how do you already know Spring Break dates? I always wonder how others know so early. I know it's 'usually' around Easter but you never know for sure...like this year it isn't.

Anyway, I'm not going April break but did look into it I think in January?? When I did, Jetblue had great rates back then! It was when Jetblue first came to Boston, but I still think you'll have a good chance when they open up. If you do a search here about April vacation airfare from Boston (there is a thread on it)...some people got some great rates.

So I believe your best bet will be Jetblue when they first open up.

Massachusetts spring break is always the 3rd full week of April to coincide with Patriot's Day. I believe this holds true for 90% of the school districts unless they choose another time. (I know Framingham tried a "winter break" in March for a few years) Check the Dept. of Ed. web site for a list of holidays for the next three years, this might give you some additional information.

We are flying during NH's April break this year on JetBlue. In order to get the best rate and flight times, I had to book Tues to Tues (so the kids will miss Mon & Tues following vacation week). For 3 of us it was around $495 ($165 each). Much better deal than we were able to find on Southwest out of MHT (always books up so fast).

We are also flying during NH's April vacation this year. I couldn't find anything reasonable for the times we needed. However, I finally ended up getting tickets with Pan Am out of Manchester for $195 roundtrip pp. I thought it was worth flying in and out of the Sanford Airport for the price savings. We needed to fly on specific days as we are doing a few days in Orlando before a cruise out of Port Canaveral on Sunday. I would watch the flights and book as early as you can and as soon as you find a price that you think is reasonable. The prices didn't come down, and as the previous poster stated, Southwest books up so fast I don't even think they open up any of the inexpensive flights during the school vacation weeks.

Thanks for the replies!! I am hoping to be able to fly on a Tuesday for the exact reasons stated, cheaper flights than Sun or Mon. It depends on when we actually activate our PAP this year and the day it will expire. Several forces at work here, flights/school vacation, DVC lower point time frame, Flower and Garden Show at Epcot and the PAP expiration dates. Jet Blue will probably be our best option....hoping to fly them in October and begin collecting points for free travel.

LOL, we were just planning our April break 2005 vacation as well. Gotta love Patriots' Day, as only Maine and Mass have vacation that week, so fewer crowds at WDW.

We were planning to book Song/Delta at the 331 day mark, maybe getting the two SkyMiles tickets Delta has available for those days;) , then paying cash for the rest of us. JetBlue does not usually issue fares and scedules until 6 months ahead, or so their rep told me last night (when I was inquiring about Nov 04 fares, also not out yet).

We plan to go Friday to Sunday, or 9 days (oh Yeah!), try to use AP hotel discounts for some of the weekend nights ("Let's go to AKL again Daddy!") and blow most of our points on a 2BR BW view. Looking forward to Flower & Garden for the first time.

Yes Patriot's Day is great when it falls away from Easter like this year. We booked Disney in January for April and at that time we could not get direct flights for 5 for less than $2,200 and did find a couple with a long layover for $1800 so we booked the train instead for $600. Could not see paying more to get there than we were paying there.
