This morning I was tired and desperate for my son to have a good day at school (he's got some behavioral issues due to adhd, sid, and anxiety), so I told him if he had a good day today, we'd have Wacky Wednesday at home. He asked what that was and I told him he'd find out if he had a good day.

So now...I don't know what to do! What would be something fun to do for "Wacky Wednesday?" He's gonna be home in an hour and a half and I just remembered I told him that.

*Update*

Well, we're going to have to try for Thuper Thursday. :( He didn't have a great day. It wasn't horrible, but doesn't warrant a reward.

Hey! I already planned to fix breakfast for dinner. That'll work. Maybe we can eat somewhere weird. We could make funny hats, too! I think I have construction paper and stuff.

How old is your son???? Might help with answers.

Here are a couple ideas.
Silly String Fight or a Nerf War.
Have Dinner in Reverse, Dessert First.

If I think of more, I'll be back.

Ooo- Nerf war! He'd love that!

He's 8, sorry.

My kids always liked when we made tropical drinks. Just 7up with fruit juice or food coloring to make it wacky. You could turn on some music and have a dance party in the living room.

What if you play some "minute to win it" games? You can google to find a couple that would be fun for your family.

Ice cream or breakfast for dinner.

Going to a movie in the middle of the week always feels wacky.

YOU have to do HIS homework (come on...one night ain't such a biggie right?)

You sleep in his bed and he gets to sleep in yours?

Green Eggs and Ham in honor of Dr. Seuss Day!

Printout a few of his best quotes and announce them when he walks in the door! Print some out and tape them throughout the house on the bathroom mirror, to his pillow, in his PJ drawer.

Cut out some footprints in construction paper and tape them to the floor leading to his afternoon snack, insideout PB & J.

Have fun

I'd love to do that, but because of his sensory issues, he's a butt about foods. Party pooper.

Thank you all for all your suggestions! I'm definitely going to keep a list for other days, too!

Great idea! Wish you lived closer...I would love to come over! You got some great suggestions. Have so much fun. :thumbsup2

Does he know Spongebob? Spongebob & Patrick do a whole episode on opposites day. That could be fun. When he walks in say "Good bye, did you have a bad day?" You could tell him he has to be the grown up and you can be the kid.

You guys are great Mom's how fun!

Set the dinner plates on the floor of the living room and have breakfast for dinner there. Have napkins and placemats and even a centerpiece.

Have him tell you what you can eat next. "No, mom, you have to have a bite of eggs BEFORE that pancake."

I love the backwards clothes idea.

Turn anything you can upside down in the living room before he gets home.

Can you learn to say his name backwards?

Maybe let him break a minor rule, like eating dinner in the living room (not exactly breaking a rule in my house, but for a lot of people it is :rolleyes1), eating dessert first, etc.

lol it would be Nnif. I think I'll do that.

You guys are awesome. I think I'm going to do each and every one of your suggestions (on different good days). Thank you so much!

How about for one day he gets to be the mom. He sets the rules (what to eat for dinner, how to spend your day, what time you have to go to bed...)

:thumbsup2

You can ask him what his ideas are. Maybe if he knows what he can expect as a reward it will help him have a better day? :confused3

That's a good idea. Maybe I'll ask and then throw in some surprises.

When his senses are overloaded, his impulse control is about nil. He yelled at a kid who was "telling him what to do," and then stomped his foot when the teacher told him stop yelling. :( It's getting better, but I can't reward that.
