Help!-Ticket questions

I'm getting ready to purchase tickets for our upcoming trip and have a few questions.

I was planning to get 5 day tickets because we don't plan to go to the parks on check-in/check out days. I noticed that Undercover Tourist has a 5 day plus one hopper/expiration ticket for $244 versus Ticketmania's 5 day hopper/expiration ticket for $251 (using Mousesaver discounts on both). Is there some sort of catch to the less expensive UC tickets that offer an extra day? If not, that might be a nice option that allows some extra flexibility for us.

I've also read several posts about tickets being added to room keys, demagnetizing issues, etc. I know we can add our tickets to our room keys, but was wondering about the pros and cons of doing that. Clearly it would mean less to carry around, but some have noted that the room key tickets may demagnetize easier. How much of a problem is magnetization with tickets, whether paper or plastic? If tickets get misplaced, is it easier to get replacements if we add them to our keys? Are there any other issues to consider regarding adding them to the room key?

Whether or not there is a catch depends on the specific rules that go with the ticket. A 5+1 day ticket is a promotional ticket as opposed to a standard ticket such as a 5 day MYW or a 6 day MYW. Generally speaking, promotional, timeshare, hurricane, and complimentary tickets cannot be upgraded or modified such as having non-expiration added.Disney prints and sells to wholesalers myriads of kinds of promotional tickets each with different rules but also wholesales out standard tickets.

Hi slkant,

When you order a 4+2 or 5+1 day ticket (or even a 6 day), we simply send you a regular 6 day ticket. It is the exact same ticket as a regular 6 day ticket. We are basically selling you a 6 day ticket at the 4 day price.

We display these tickets as 4+2 and 5+1 along with the 6 day because some people may look for a 4 day ticket and not realise we offer one; they are all the same price.

seashoreCM - sorry for the confusion - the extra days offer is promotional (in that we have lowered the prices) but the 4+2, 5+1 and 6 day tickets are regular tickets; order any of them and we send a regular 6 day ticket.

Thanks. When I looked at the UC web site again before seeing your message, it sounded as if you simply upgraded the ticket to a regular 6 day ticket, but I wasn't sure. I'm very glad to hear that is the case.

One more question (well, really two related questions)-Are the tickets shipped in a method that can be tracked in case they get lost? If a package is lost and time allows, will you reissue and mail new tickets?

I can tell you that if the tickets were to be lost (very rare) we would give you the ticket numbers and disney can reissue new ones at the gates. Disney is the only one who can reissue tickets, so we could not mail new ones.

If lost (very rare), there is a guest relations window(s) at every theme park that would quickly replace the lost tickets - you would not have to line up at the regular ticket booths and wait in line Note. Disney reserves the right to refuse to do this, we are not allowed to GUARANTEE it, but Disney has never refused to reissue our tickets, they just want to retain control of this (for security reasons).
