Hi all.

OMG, i hope somebody can help me with this.
We're right now driving down to Disney for a week's vacation.
Last night at 11:30 I lost a filling that was filling in a chipped tooth! EEEEK!
Can anyone tell me if there's any dentistry services in/around the World?

There is always Here.

Hope you get it fixed soon!

Do you have a dental plan? If it's not an emergency, maybe you can call your insurance company on Monday or go on their website to look for one in your plan. Good luck!

Are you in pain of any sort? Is it just annoying at this point, can you wait till you return home??
Did you know that the places like cvs etc, even walmart I think.. actually sell a small kit (near pharmacy area) that has an emergency set that has the "fill" that you can use temporarily ..It Works!.
Otherwise, I hope that someone will give you more specifics for a dental place.
Good Luck!!!

There's a fairly large dental practice in Celebration, near the hospital. I believe their name is Celebration Dental.

It seems that I ALWAYS have a dental problem when I get to Disney. If you're in pain, I would call your dentist and have him send a pain prescription to the local walgreens/cvs. If you can hold off and you're not in pain, I would wait till you get back.

Your hotel room should have Yellow pages with plenty of emergency dentists. Best of luck to you. So sorry this had to happen at such a time.

:)

I may be the voice of dissent here but I say get that puppy fixed at the first chance you can down there:thumbsup2 I personally do not do pain and suffering:sick: especially when on vacation. Yes, for me that means even if I had to pay out of pocket....my teeth and convenience are well worth it:goodvibes

I use Celebration Dental Group. They have two locations, one in the hospital and the other at 741 Front street.

I personally use Lakeside Family Dentristy - located 10 min north of MK.

Not open on the weekends though.

Disney has a joke - you can be anything you want at Walt Disney World, except for 2 things: a Coroner & a Dentist. We do not employ those particular occupations.

I never heard of a kit like that! Very interesting. I may have to check that out. Thank you so much for the suggestion.

The only thing that worries me is if that ends up causing more damage than good, e.g., how difficult is it for the dentist to remove later on?

We just arrived at St. Augustine for the night. Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions!

Oh how i was hoping somebody would have said, "don't worry, there's a dentist in Downtown Disney" or something. ;)

The good news is, I'm really not in much pain. I can just feel the rather large crater in the backside of the front tooth. And it's a bit rough so it's irritating my tongue. But so far, nothing super super serious. Just uncomfortable, scary, and very inconvenient.

Thanks again for all your advice.

My DH lost a filling while at Disney. We got the temporary filling kit mentioned by a pp. Found it at a Walgreens. DH said it should hold until you get home and our dentist had no trouble removing it to repair the filling. You probably should be careful about what you eat until the repair is permanent. These kits are designed for this type of temporary emergency patch but if you start having much pain, I'd go to a dentist down there.

I have used something called DenTemp when part of a filling came out. I got it at a drugstore. I had to rinse very well and then applied some of the material. It was just a temporary fix over a weekend until I could get in to see the dentist. I wouldn't use something like for more than a couple of days without a dentist's advice.
