My friend and I went in March and they had a clam pick a pearl setting for a necklace that my friend really wanted but they were so busy and we were at the end of our trip and were just ready to get back to our room.

I'm going back in 2 months with my family and was wondering what the cost of it was for a possible Christmas present for her and to be able to factor that cost in with what I money I bring with me.
Thanks!!

I'm not there right now, but you should look online at settings. They have many of the same ones online (places like etsy) as they do in the parks, including Disney themed ones, but for much cheaper.

Here is a site from Etsy, that had a lot of nice choices. She has over 17,000 reviews...
I don't know her and have never bought from her, but there are many more like her. Thought this might help begin the process.

I got an open clam shell in silver for my pick-a-pearl at Epcot in 2012. I don't remember what I paid for it, but it is now one of my favorite necklaces.

Like Nonna said, you're a beautiful friend to get one for your friend. I am sure she will cherish it. :)

Thanks you guys It was her first trip to Disney and she said later how she wished she would have just waited around to get it

That sounds just like the one she was wanting

Where would you take one of the pearls to get it set if you bought a setting after your trip?

Most you can do on your own, I got Cinderella's carriage for Christmas one year and was able to "set" it myself

I think the one the op is looking for the pearl is actually mounted to the setting vs caged like most of those on etsy.

They are "cages", so you can do it yourself! Just open the cage and drop your pearl in, it snaps tight. And voila, you have your necklace!

We didn't worry about the cage until afterwards. Go, have fun, do the pick-a-pearl, and then order a cage when you get home!

My wife's cage uses the chain to hold it closed/locked to hold the pearl in.

On our last visit, DD wanted to do PAP again so she chose a bottle of purple sand to put her pearl in. That is a neat and inexpensive setting LOL!

FYI I ordered cage necklaces for myself and for @TinkLoverSam for the Etsy store mentioned up-thread and they are great. I did spring for the more expensive sterling silver ones vs the plated ones but they're very nice. If you buy one that the pearl needs to be mounted to you'll probably have to take it to a jeweler to have it done properly.
