Yes, I might be a little insane, but I'm trying to plan a three-day trip to WDW. It's my first time, and I want to see all of the major attractions. That said, I only have one morning at AK.

What are the must-sees/must-dos, and what order should I hit them in???

Here are the ones I'm thinking of so far...

Kilmanjaro Safari
Dinosaur
Expedition Everest
Kali River Rapids
Primeval Whirl

and if possible, I would like to check out some of the other animal exhibits.

We have breakfast at Donald's at 8 am and we would like to heard to Epcot by 2.

Any help would be appreciated!!! :)

We just got back from a 4 day trip, so don't worry, it can be done. I'd totally skip primeval twirl, though, it's just not that great and you feel like you're going to yack up your kidneys when you're done. Here's how to do it:

1. Get into the park 10 minutes before opening time. That means standing at the gates waiting for the park to open at 7:50 am.

2. Send your fastest kid off to Expedition Everest with all the tickets to get fast passes while the rest of you go over to Donald's Breakfastosaurus.

3. Go to Dinosaur after Donald, it's the closest. Promptly throw up your breakfast because the ride's so rough (kidding!)

4. Check to see when you can get another FP, usually you can get another one once your window for EE opens up. Get one for Kali on your way over to EE.

5. Ride EE, then hmm, I've forgotten the other ones on your list, ok, um, ride EE, then head over to Kilimonjaro Safaris. You're probably going to wait in line for a while because you have the FP for Kali.

6. Ride Kali. By now it'll be really hot and getting soaked will feel nice.

Hope this helps!

You could try this:

Got straight to EE and grab Fast Passes.
Then head over and ride Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl and Kali.
If Fp's are ready go ride EE, if not head to the Safari.

It totally can be done!

When we go to Disney we spend the least amount of time at AK. Not because we don't like animals or the theming, it's just their are fewer rides there, and the attractions at AK are for the most part the kind you really only ride once.

The Safari ride for example: Once you've done it, you've done it,
Bug's Life: Once you've done it, you've done it.

For our family the only attractions at AK we wanted to ride again were the Kali river rapids and Dinosaur.

So go, do what you want, and don't worry about what you miss, it will probably still be there when you come back

Are you going with children? And what time of the year are you going?

I just want to say - that we were there the first week of May and we have small children. We were averaging an attraction an hour. We were there when the park opened too, it's just kind of slow when your youngest can't go on the thrill rides...

But if you're not traveling with small children, or children at all, you should be able to get more attractions in.

Another thing is - if you don't mind riding Expedition Everest alone - take advantage of the single rider line and save a fastpass for Kali or Kilomanjari. So I would start off on Dinosaur - this early it will likely be walk-on. Then head to the other side of the park to get a Fast Pass for Safaris. Then hit Kali River Rapids and on to Expedition Everest. Depending on how crowded it is, you may even want to ride it twice. By then you can probably use your Fast Pass for Safaris.

If your lucky you might have time to take it easy and enjoy the scenery. AK really is a beautiful park. It rivals the San Diego zoo in it's landscape.

Hope this helps...

is your AK day EMH (morning)? if so (and even if not, 'cause otherwise you'll be eating when you could be grabbing a fast pass), i'd make a later adr at donald's and hit the biggies and/or get a fastpass before "brunch"

i.e. go in, ride safari (everyone else will be running to ee), grab fp for EE, go on dinosaur, primeval hurl, then eat, grab fp for kali on your way to ee, ride kali and you're done!

To me, I would make sure I went on the Safari, EE, Dinosaur, and do the animal exhibits. Its the animal exhibits that set this park apart. I am a zoo junkie (in fact I am a zoo volunteer) and just love the exhibit designs at this park. Its probably one of the best zoos in the country along w/ San Diego and the Bronx.

"Nahtazu!"

I respectfully totally disagree with the poster who said you do Kilimanjaro Safaris once and that was enough. We've done it now more than 10 times, and each experience is different depending upon the time of day, the temperature, the weather, and the driver.

It's never the same ride twice. This time we had kudu and giraffes right.up.against. the vehicle, we had to stop moving, they got so close.

Last time the baby elephant got stuck on a tree trunk and couldn't wiggle his way off it, and his mom had to shove him and the tree trunk over to free him-too cute!

Oh, I need to add: You really, really should try to see the Lion King show. It is spectacular-my husband's favorite, and he's not a showtunes kind of guy.
