So I am planning on taking my laptop to get looked at to see what the issue is, but was hoping maybe some of you compter savvy Disers might know what the issue is.

Last week I am pretty sure I got a virus on my computer, I kept getting that little popup that looks like it is from Windows saying my computer was a risk. I tried to run Malwarebytes and it wouldn't open. I left my computer alone for a few days and then Friday I turned it on and MacAfee automatically ran a scan like it does every Firday. It found 3 items and told me I needed to restart my computer. I did that and now it starts up but when it starts to load all the icons it goes to the login screen. I click my icon to login (it is the only login) and it starts to load and does the same thing again.

I have tried to start it up in Safe Mode, but it comes up that there was an error trying to start in Safe Mode.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be and how to fix it or how much it might cost to get it fixed.

TIA!

This isn't any help to you right now, but I would strongly encourage you to consider purchasing a Mac down the road. Having used both "breeds" of machines for many, many years, and having been responsible for the purchase, integration, and maintenance of hundreds over the years, the really, really is a big difference when it comes to "pesky issues" and ease of use through intuition.

Regarding your current problem, I wish you the best of luck removing what I believe to be malware of some sort.

I had something similar on my computer a couple of weeks ago. It is a virus and McAfee took care of it -- eventually. You might want to go to the McAfee site and see what they tell you to do. If it is the same virus that I had, I had to start taskmanager right when my computer booted up and turn off the virus process before McAfee could do it's thing.

Good luck!
