Help! My mom froze an (unopened can) of Pillsbury dough

Never heard of one exploding. It's not like it's under extreme pressure. Now a can of carbonated soda can explode if frozen solid. I've forgotten one in the freezer, and soon after taking it out, the top blew open at the perforation and sprayed chunks of soda ice to the ceiling. I've heard worse though.

Thanks for the update, OP. Glad everything was ok, no explosion. As far as rubbery tasting, that doesn't happen with a fresh can so it must have been from freezing.

I did that once with a bottle (when they were made of glass) of Pepsi! Glass all over the freezer!

<Sigh!> This thread makes me miss my old tag :lovestruc which used to say, "I can shoot a gun but I'm afraid of opening a can of biscuits." :duck: :lmao:

Truth. I look away as I am opening it up. Whats bad is when they don't open up automatically when you unwrap the container. Then you have to get a spoon and start pressing until it opens. I keep thinking they are going to explode out of there like an air bag lol

A can of soda can explode if left in a car trunk in freezing cold weather, or in an unheated garage too. Trust me.

First post after getting an avatar. They cut off the ends of my rhombus!! Ouch!!

How are you? I miss your tag! Maybe we can find a picture of a can of biscuits for you.

::yes:: I used to do catering. One time, I worked a posh, private house party with 2 other coworkers. I get a phone call the next day from my cousin who does the booking for the company. She said the client had called up rather angry. The bartender had put a bottle of champagne & 2 club sodas in the freezer to quick chill. He apparently forgot to take them all out. The bottle that was left in the freezer overnight had exploded. :duck: :headache:

Who else do I have to pick on?:rotfl2: How is Pakey? Haven't seen her for quite a while.

:scratchin I lost the tag I had on Pakey too. :( Now that you mention it, :scratchin I haven't seen her around either. I hope we didn't lose HER in the upgrade.

I haven't seen her post in a very long time, I hope everything is okay…:sad1:

Bang the container on a corner of the counter. You should only need moderate force.

True, but I'm always wary when opening a can of Pillsbury crescent rolls, Grands, etc. Either with a spoon or banging it against the counter. I KNOW it's not going to explode, but still.....I usually turn away and do it at arm's length.
