Who just cannot fathom why anyone without children would want to go to Disney World. I need some ammo here, as I would really love to go just he and I one day!

:earsgirl: + :earsboy: =:teeth:

-Great restaurants!

-Amazing resorts!

-Beautiful landscaping and themes!

-Tons of recreation: swimming, boating, mini golf, horse riding, etc!

-Lots of romantic spots!

-Great adult nightlife at Pleasure Island and the Boardwalk!

-Oh, and the chance to have fun and be a kid again!

We are making our 12th trip in May, but this will be our first with a child! All our other trips were just the two of us and we had a blast! When you go without kids, you really have a chance to relax and soak up all the wonderful atmosphere. You can move at a slower pace and just enjoy the little things that make WDW so special - like watching the sun rise over Bay Lake from your Wilderness Lodge balcony or really exploring the details in the World Showcase countries.

I personally am glad there won't be children going with me because they slow you down.

GEM said it best.

Unfortunately my husband doesn't agree. We were there in 2000 before we were married and he doesn't want to go back again.

Its all I can do to convince him to take our future children.

So for now I just go with my friends :)

If not for me, my DH probably wouldn't go at all. He goes because he knows it make me happy. He's my prince.

If I ever wanted it to be just me and the DH I would only need to say one words: "Golf"

His only question would be "When are we going"

We have been going to WDW since 1973 and still enjoy our trips to this day. Most of our trips were with our kids. But now that they're grown, we go ourselves and have a wonderful time. In fact, we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary last year in WDW. It was very romantic and something that will never be forgotten. :love2:

This is our FOURTH trip to Disney without kids - we are heading for our mid-30s and wanted to wait to have children until about now. We figured this will be our very last Disney hurrah until we go with children. Besides the great rides and amusements Disney has to offer, they have great entertainment, food and just plan magic!!! Where else can you go to see fireworks and parades every single day of your vacation? We think that Disney is the most romantic utopian place in the world - good luck - let us know how you make out:)

my dh and I went for our honeymoon 13 years ago and we are heading back with our three kids in April. We plan on going when they're all grown up too! We are big kids at heart!:teeth:

I, too, and the true WDW fanatic in our relationship. My husband, though, really does enjoy our trips very much! One thing I always try to do is plan some special things that I know my husband will really enjoy, for instance -

In May, I have him signed up for the Segway tour at Epcot. I know he'll love that!

We're also going to have lunch one day at Matsunoma in Japan, because he loves Sushi and we don't get it very much living where we do.

We always spend a few afternoons renting Water Mice and playing mini golf, both of which he loves.

Try to think of some neat activities, restaurants, etc. that you know he would enjoy and bring those up when you talk about visiting! It's not all about the parks!

Hubby and I do not have any children at all. Our first visit to WDW was in December of 1993. At that time I was 40 years old, and DH was 64. ( Yes, we are a generation apart )
We had a blast ! :bounce: We did MANY rides and shows.
We had 4 annual WDW vacations together.

After the 4th WDW vacation, DH just didn't want to go anymore.
Actually, he didn't want to vacation Anywhere , he would rather just stay home.

So now I am 50 years old, and I have now also had 5 SOLO vacations to WDW. Hubby prefers to stay home with our 2 cats, and I still hope to visit WDW, annually, for the rest of my life! I already have my ressies for this December

Here's a list of reasons to go to Disney without children:

TOT

RnRC

SM

Splash Mountain

Safari

Kali River Rapids

TT

M:S

restaurants at Epcot

Cirque

Adventurer's Club

BB and TL

Illuminations

Wishes

Fantasmic

great resorts

monorail (I still think it's cool at age 38)

I'm sure I could come up with more if I took another five minutes, but if this doesn't convince him he's hopeless;) . If you don't have kids yet, have them soon so you can go to Disney and he can "learn" what it's like to be a kid again. If that doesn't work, perhaps you can "borrow" someone's kids for a trip:) .

I never went until my children were grown. Now I go with my daughter 32 and I'm sure we have more fun as adults than I would have had when she was little.

Everything the above posters said is true! My babies are both in university now. In October I went with my 69-year-old mother. Just the two of us. We had a fantastic time. Did what we wanted when we wanted.
Then, about a month ago my husband and I went on our first vacation together without the kids in over 20 years. I can't even tell you what a different feeling it is being there without the kids. I cried the morning we left. I didn't want to come home.
In May, my in-laws (66 & 70 years old) are coming with us. They never wanted to do Disney. They finally agreed they would like to come. I think they changed their mind partly because my mother told them that it WAS for adults and partly because without the kids, we can go at their pace. I know they won't love it as much as I do, but I think they'll really enjoy MGM, AK and Epcot.
Disney really is for everyone - with or without kids!:sunny:

LOL I I were to say one word to my husband it would have to be sex... :earseek: :teeth:

Hey, whatever it takes! Seriously, though (as if I wasn't serious), just a few days without our children to go to the parks, Pleasure Island, etc, without trying to please the children is enough to make my DH want to go.

Tinkie, since I now have an AP my husband and I are thinking about going down, just the two of us. Problem is, we have to get my in-laws to come out here for a visit so we can go away. My MIL is thinking about coming out here this summer and would watch the kids, but I don't want to go to WDW when there are lots of crowds. I told my husband that September is good. We'll see.

Claudia, do you meet friends/relatives or go by yourself. I think a solo trip wouldn't be too bad. I've met my sister at WDW before (without children, or in her case grandchildren) and we had a blast. And I knew that my pets and children were being taken good care of at home with my DH.

Ah, cause it is fun and WDW is not just for kids. We go twice a year and we are empty nesters. Tell him to think outside the box, there is a ton of stuff for adults to do without kids and to even have fun too.
