I'm looking to plan a trip for either the last two weeks in October, or the last week in October and the first week in November. I wanted to make sure that I hit at least one night for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, so figure at least I'd need to be there for the last week in October.

I'm assuming that if I push the second week into November the crowds will be a little less. Any suggestions/thoughts about it??

We went last of Oct 2002 and into the first of Nov. It was a perfect time. Went over my two young ones birthdays and Halloween. The weather was perfect, crowds light except for MK on Halloween. I'm trying to figure out how to do again that same time of year for my next trip because it was so nice.

I've been there the 3rd week in Ocotber, and the first week in November, and the crowds have been fine...maybe a smidge busier on the weekends, but nothing unmanageable.

That time period is also when the Epcot Food and Wine Festival takes place (October 18-November 16, give or take a day or two) which is also great.

I would try to plan around whatever week it is that the NJ schools close up. I don't know why they do it but it seems to be the "unofficial NJ week" at Disney when that happens.

If you go last week only you could get "stuck" with an OCT 31 MNSSHP which will be JAM PACKED. Last 2 weeks will give you plenty of time to choose a MNSSHP and hit the F&WF at Epcot. I've gone 2 years in a row at this time and it is fine as far as crowds go. I'd actually go back at this time again, but I wanted to get another trip out of my PAP's and the first 2 weeks of Oct is too busy at work.

I’ve heard that “Jersey Week” will be the week of Nov. 3, so I’m going to avoid that since it does get a little more crowded than usual. Columbus Day will be Oct. 13, so that’s another good week to avoid. Last year I went in mid-November and it was pretty cold. So I’m thinking the week of Oct. 20th or 27th might be good. The golf tournament is the week of the 20th, but I don’t think it affects crowds too much.

hi: the teachers' convention is usually the first thursday(11/6) and friday(11/7) of the month. many parents would take their kids out of school for a couple of days on either side of these dates.

My trip isn't until Oct. 26th-Nov. 6th 2004, but after reading about "Jersey Week", I'm a little worried. Like jfulcer, I planned at least 1 week in Oct. so we can hit MNSSHP, but I also planned the first week of Nov. because I thought it was value season(lower attendence).

When is the unofficial "Jersey Week"? Is it around the same time every year? Since the 1st week of Nov. in 2004 isn't a full week, will the Jersy not be until the following week?

I had read horror stories from past years of the crowds from Jersey week, but I didn't realize the date. It's not too late for me too change plans, is it really that bad during this time?

HELP!
Thanks!

;) :D ,

Ha Ha Ha! No...No hard feelings!

I enjoy going duing Jersey Week. I think its funny seeing so many people from Jersey there! We have been in the past and will be there again this year during that week. We'll be there the last week of October and the first two weeks of November. I think it is really a nice time to go...the weather is great and the crowds aren't too bad. I'm really looking forward to it!

So Valerie, how were the crowds last year? Is it more or less crowded than during the last week in October? What were waits like?? I still have the chance to move my vacation dates a bit, but not for much longer so I'm trying to make a choice...

Thanks!

I am just wondering since this is about the 3rd reference to this I have seen - does everyone think people from NJ don't have manners, smell bad, etc.? I can't believe with 50 states in this country and all the international visitors, that those of us from NJ are soooooo bad.

Oh wait, maybe it is our funny accent that gets everyone:p

I promise, we don't even bite - we are just DIS fans.:)

It's definitely the accent! That and all the Yankees caps!

Our trip in Oct-Nov of 2000 included the first day or two of "Jersey Week" and we did notice that the parks were a little more crowded and there absolutely were more people with "funny" accents on those days, but we never waited in any line more than maybe 15 minutes. Make good use of the fast pass and you won't have any problem.

Also, we were not bitten by anyone from New Jersey!

We were there last year(10/18-10/27), and the crowds were not bad for the most part. We went to AK on a Sat, and when that closed went to MK- THAT was awful. You could hardly move it was so packed. I don't remember what night we went to Epcot, but the food and wine festival was very crowded- it was hard to walk through. We are going again 10-24 to 11-2 because that is when our kids have convention. I did notice alot of Europeans when we were there.
