Can any of you suggest a recipe for a dessert for an Asian themed meal? We're going to visit friends on Sunday & I'm supposed to take a dessert. I'm not sure exactly what else is on the menu, but the main dish is Teriyaki Pork.

Any suggestions??

TIA

PS Due to allergies, it needs to be something without coconut or milk.

I just got back from WDW and ate at Ohanas for the first time. At the very end of the meal they bring over 1/4 of a pieaple sliced and a little bowl of caramel sauce. It was the one of the best things I have ever had at wdw. It is simple and in expensive to do.

I think almost anything fruity, especially citrus, would go well with teriyaki. We frequently have rainbow sherbet with Chinese, but that's something you just buy from the store.

Grapefruit cake using the Brown Derby restaurant would probably be good. So would key lime pie.

While its not really Asian, I would think this Hawaiin Cake could go with Terryaki. Actually, its so good it could go with anything.;)

HAWAIIN WEDDING CAKE

1 box yellow cake mix
8 oz. cream cheese
1 lg. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
2 c. milk
1 lg. can crushed pineapple (drained)
2 envelopes Dream Whip
1 can Angel Flake Coconut

Mix cake mix according to directions on the box. Bake in 12x18x3
inch or 11x15x3 inch pan for 15 to 20 minutes (or as shown on the
package for that size cake). Let cool.

Mix until creamy: 8 oz. cream cheese, pudding, and milk. spread
this on top of the cooled cake.

On top of this, spread 1 large can crushed pineaplle, drained well.

Whip 2 envelopes of Dream Whip according to package directions and
Spread this on top of the pineapple.

Spread 1 can Angel Flake coconut on top of Dream Whip. You can also
add chopped maraschino cherries or nuts.

I use cool whip instead of Dream Whip, and I do put walnuts & cherries on top.
