I am giving a DVC presentation to a friend in about an hour. I need to know, what is available to purchase now ( he will be going the end of Sept.) other than SSR?

Also, what is the cost per point on SSR maintenance fees???

Thanks so much for any help. I can't wait to play the DVC dvd for him. :cool1:

DVC is only officially selling SSR right now (but some add-ons at other sold out resorts are available for members). I believe SSR is selling at $98, and I *think* there's a promo that gets that down by $8 with a purchase of 150 (?) points.....sorry I'm not concrete on this. Of course all resorts are available via resale (see TTS for examples).

SSR fees are $ 3.82 per point for 2005.

When I purchased a few months ago I told my guide I absolutely did not want SSR. I had already toured with her about 6 months ago and my family did not want that resort. I wanted BWV and she had a couple of options for me in the point range I wanted. I ended up with a resale because I found a resale that had a ton of pts banked so it worked out better. But the difference in price wasn't significant really if it wasn't for the extra pts I got.

I got the feeling you can always buy sold-out resorts direct from Disney but maybe whats available is more limited. Just a guess.

Right now DVC is selling SSR only. They may have a few other contracts at other resorts which they gained through ROFR, but you'd have to "ask" about that...they probably wouldn't offer that information.

I recall a post fairly recently on this board where the poster indicated to his guide that he was interested in purchasing at BCV. The guide tired his best to steer the poster toward SSR, but when the poster emphatically said "If I can't purchase any BCV contract through DVC directly, then I will look at the resale market" the guide then reviewed the BCVs contracts that DVC had available from ROFR.
