Help! I can't change my ticket from Jan 2021 to Dec 2020

Hi, hoping someone can help. We have one day tickets for each of our family members for Jan 15 2021. Our travel plans have changed and we will now be at WDW in Dec 2020. When I go into MDE, I can get to the screen where I select a new date for our tickets but I can only book in Jan 2021 and forward (including earlier days in January). When I change the calendar to December, every date is crossed out.

The park pass booking calendar shows full availability at all parks so that's not the issue.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Only guessing here, but I’m thinking the system won’t let you change 2021 tickets to 2020 as the 2021 is probably a park hopper, and they don’t want you to change it to 2020 and then have you ask for the hopper refund.

That doesn't appear to be a factor because...

Bought directly from Disney, not park hoppers. I dread calling...but will give it a try later tonight

As Robo said, I think you'll have to call. There have been some ticket issues that were easily resolved by phone but online just wasn't working. Good luck!

U definitely have to call but u can change dates.

Put the phone on speaker. You can listen to Disney music while doing other things.

I had to change dates from November to September earlier this week and had to call...only took a few minutes (after 2 hours on hold)

You're right and I did

I was on hold for about 90 mins on Thursday evening but she was able to basically release my ticket from being tied to that date in Jan and I paid her the difference between that date and the cost of a ticket on Dec 25 ($30+ per person additional). Then once I was done on the phone, I had to go into MDE to select the date and park through the park reservation tool

We are now booked to be at Hollywood Studios on Christmas Day!!!!
