Okay, I am hoping to get some help from all the experts here. We are currently booked 11/19-11/27 (fly out early 11/27). We arrive super late on 11/19. Right now I have a POR Royal Room booked for the whole span. I don't know what to do with the free dining plan/possible room only discounts. I was considering changing to Pop Century for the first leg and checking into POR for 11/23. Alternately, we could stay where we are for the whole time, check out and back in on 11/23. Another option might be to wait for the room only discounts. We can't change our dates because of school and flights. I called our AAA travel agent, and she wouldn't be able to change our reservations until late on July 12th. Should I worry that the free dining will be gone before she gets to it that afternoon? I asked the husband and he really doesn't care. Help, I need some good advice. I am also wondering if I should book dining for the first 4 days regardless of where we stay.

If you want free dining you can always just reserve it yourself for the $200 deposit and then have your AAA agent cancel your old reservation. You could then transfer it to her or just manage it yourself (what I would do). If she owns your reservation she will have to make all your ADRs for you and that is a huge pain, IMO.

well u could stay where you are and do room only for the first part and then switch to the package with FDing on the 23rd. If you buy park tix you can pick them up~up to 3 days early so thats no problem... you will jsut have to wory about food unless u have the DP on your first part too. I would figure the math out because sometimes doing split stays like that doesnt save that much if you have to split your park tickets up. If you dont, it might save you more :) HTH even a little bit

Actually you can make the ADR's yourself either online or by phone. You don't need a room/package reservation to make ADR's (since people who stay offsite dine there too). There are a few resturants where prepayment is required (like dinner shows or cinderella royal table) and those you can make using your free dinning plan by providing a reservation number. (The reservation number/confirmation number should have been provided to you by your AAA agent, if not give them a call). You may have to call disney direct to book these few ADR's (407-WDW-DINE), but the ADR's can be made by you regardless of how you book.
