I need your help. I am going to orlando with my son (age 4) for 10 days in Nov 2003. I have booked our flights but I need help with accommodation. I have decided on staying within the I-drive area as I am a nondriver. I need to find decent hotels which will fit within my budget $30-45 and will be in range of the I-ride trolley and shops. As we will need a couple of days to chill out from all the walking I would'nt mind heated pools/jacuzzi!

any ideas

desperate mom!!!

Hotelkingdom, Priceline, Travelozoo, or Skyauction to get a decent hotel in that price range. You might have to wait a bit for deals in Nov tho. Most deals I am finding lately only go through the end of Oct(I need a room for 11/1 and 11/2).

For info on Priceline, go to biddingfortravel.com

For info on the hotels, look at the top of this board and you will see a post "best/worst" hotel- that will give you an idea on if they are nice or not.

I am in agreement with sln88. You have plenty of time to do some research and look around for your best options. Definately check out the biddingfortravel site. I have booked through here and have enjoyed my stay; however, I did not stay in the I-Drive area or spend a lot of time during the day at my hotel.

We just came back from our first trip and we saved a ton a money but we were a little furthur away and we drove. You might trying a site called Orlandoinfo.com and getting the Orlando magic card. You could save money on hotel, dining. You might try buying the entertainment book. This book has saved me tons of money on trips before. I save 50% on hotels, car rental, dining, entertainment, etc and the cost of the book is $20 per year. Some other websites you might try are www.mousesavers.com, www.mouseplanet.com, I found these very helpful when I researched for our trip. We have a family of five and spent a total of $1500 for 10 days and 9 nights. We drove from Texas though.

I would agree with SimonV about Dreams.

Also I would advise trying Priceline in the Universal area. I got the Wyndham Orlando I-Drive twice this year for about $35 a night. The trolley stops right in front. It is a common winner in the 3 star category.

I have been thinking about using priceline and have started to read all the info on biddingfortravel. I am a bit apprehensive on a few things

1 will I be able to get 9 nights at one hotel via priceline

2 I am a nondriver - what is the chance I will be able to get an hotel with a shuttle bus or i-ride trolley to universal/seaworld

3 when is the best time to start bidding on priceline - my trip starts nov 5

On another note can anyone recommend best westernmovieland hotel?

(i am counting the sec!!)

excited momma
