Anyone care to guess who this is referring to?

"But here's two faces to watch as things move forward: Melissa, a hot line cook who can fix a mean steak, and Julia, the Waffle House lady. The latter was the logical choice to go home tonight as the rest of the ladies were agitating for her demise, but she was retained, wisely, by the former. Now I can't help but wonder if Julia is the person about whom Arthur Smith said this: 'There's one person in this year's cast whose improvement is so dramatic that Gordon probably showed more affection to this person than he's ever shown before. It's obviously not at the beginning, but there's a real lovable episode where it's a good cry-fest. And Gordon does something very special for h— for this person.' Hmmm..."

I hope it's Julia.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I betcha it's not Aaron. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how she could have done anything more, short of forcibly engineering a one-woman coup at the egg station.

Things, of course, could very much change in the coming weeks, but, as it stands right now, Julia and Melissa are my favorites.

Me too. The men are are just not very interesting, except for the cowboy of course, but he's only interesting because he's so damn annoying.

I'll take him ANY day over the doofus last year that was literally dripping sweat into the food - UG!

I'd forgotten about him. Remember when Chef Ramsey had them waiting tables and "big boy" (aka sweaty dude) had to keep running up and down the stairs?

I really enjoy this show...it's about the only reality show that I watch. There's something about his snotty accent that cracks me up...especially when he's insulting them.

Ginny :cutie:

I'm wondering if they are setting up Asian cowboy so bad b/c he might actually make it far??? :faint: :faint:

Darn! I forgot this was one again.
Can anyone tell me if they re-run the episodes?

Fox is re-airing the show's opener before the new show next Monday. Here in the midwest, they're showing last Monday's episode 7-8pm, then the next installment directly following, at it's normal timeslot of 8-9pm.

This is the first time I've watched the show (it's not as bad as I thought it would be - in all the previews for the show, Chef is screaming and swearing. Not that he doesn't do this, but at least not all the time.)

I have one question: where do they get the restaurant customers from? They know what they're in for - right? It shouldn't be a big surprise that on Night Number One that not much food is produced.

I am a huge fan of the show. From what I've read in various places, the restaurant isn't an actual restaurant but an old abandoned studio converted over. The patrons were friends of the crew, though later some were located through an open casting call. They received payment for appearing, and got free food (if they indeed ever did get any food) and free beverages. The free beverages lead to some hilarious drunken people, doing things from ordering a pizza to be delivered to a table inside the "restaurant", to complaining to Gordon Ramsay about where their food was, only to have Gordon snap and verbally abuse them. Great tv. (The source for some of this was an interview with the season one winner, Michael Wray. Plus, I've seen every episode of the show.)

I never watched this show before, but I had to tune in this season. It's not very often you see a preview for a show and recognize someone!! My sister is friends with Eddie's mom, and I met him when he was about 15. Nicest kid ever; his parents were also darling. He always wanted to go to culinary school (which he did), and now he's on Hell's Kitchen. I hope he lasts awhile. Go Eddie!! :thumbsup2

Monday reminder bump for fans who missed the premiere episode!

I can't believe Aaron is still there. Too funny when he was out and introducing himself .

Last year he would change who they nominated so I thought he was going to do that night but he didn't.

Chef Ramsey must think a lot of them should go home.

And why do they tell them they are not going home then vote for them :confused3 That would make they a target next time I would think.

Chef sent Eddie home. I felt bad for him but even he said he "deserved" it because he did not stand up for himself in the kitchen. He allowed his team members to physically overwhelm him and he got flustered.

Aaron is a collapse waiting to happen. Perhaps Chef sees that - I've never seen him be compassionate on air. Like last week when Julia was crying - didn't scream ( then ) just asked what was wrong.

Another good episode. So glad that the women got it together and worked as team with a lot less bickering and fighting. They humilated the guys. :lmao:

The only guy I like is Rock. He seems to have kept his nose clean so far.

Crying cowboy!!! :happytv: I can't get over him. Did you see how much he was sweating while he was deboning the sole? I thought for sure that we were going to see some drip onto the food.

Is he faking it? I'm wondering if he's thinking that he got himself in over his head and didn't realize how difficult this was going to be. Now that he realizes that he can't handle it he can't just up and quit. If he did then he would look bad. So instead he starts to feel "faint and dizzy" hoping that they will boot him because of it. A more 'honerable' way to leave the show. Then he can tell people that he tried his hardest but because he didn't feel good he was cut. Save some face.

It doesn't look real, I think he is faking it, what do you guys think? Next week should be good. Looks like he "passes out" in the kitchen!!! :rolleyes1

Julia is going to kick butt next week!!! Breakfast!!!!!! :cool1: That girl is going to be in her element. The other girls just better suck it up and let her be in charge of that service. They need to check their ego's at the door and go out there and beat the crud out of the boys again!!! :cheer2:

I like Rock too. So far he has not been in the middle of all the drama. I am wondering about Aaron as well. My DH hates this show but was watching with us for a few minutes, all the while adding his own comments. He was grossed out over the "sweated sole", and on that we both agreed! YUCH!
Go Julia!
