Hells Kitchen! Official Discussion Thread, Come CHAT!

Okay i was soo mad at the ladies making fun of the waffle house chick, but wasn't she the only one that got the eggs done??

Yes it was only after they let her start to actually cook that anything left the kitchen. I hope he gives her a chance.

Funny quick story- my buddy at work wrote health insurance last week for the family business of one of the guys on the show. I think the name is Victor Fama but don't quote me. Anyways, my buddy never even heard of the show but the guy's mom was telling him ALL about it.

I hope he gives her a chance too!

I think it was a good choice on who went home, Joanna needs to go too!

I like him on the show where he comes in and revamps the kitchen, changes the menu, etc. Can't recall what the name is, but he's certainly not as vile on that show as he is on Hell's Kitchen.

While Top Chef may not be the best cooking in the world, the chefs aren't cursed out or humiliated by the judges! Sure, a guest chef might criticize the dishes but he's never calling them a "F#&$ donkey" or screaming his lungs out at them.

This is exact reason I love this show. It's hilarious! Besides, it's a reality show, these people know what they are getting into. Ramsay has admitted he amps up the dramatics for Hell's Kitchen.

The other show is called Kitchen Nightmares. A US version will be shown on Fox in the Fall. Also, he has another show called The F Word that is really good on BBC America.

I am already annoyed with Joanna and Josh. Next week looks like it will be good!

Are you a Nanny/Personal Chef in a past life? ;)

No, but I played one on t.v.

Not really, but I've never seen a nanny in Manhattan who fed the kids anything more than microwave meals. Seriously, these women would make elaborate meals for themselves while feeding the kid pig slop.

ITA times two. Love these other shows and agree that Hoanna needs to go!

After they walked in the door it certainly wasn't a, "you had me at hello" momemt from Ramsy. :rotfl2:

I like Waffle House girl! I felt bad for her! What's up with Chunky Monkey as Chef Ramsay refers to him? He definitely likes to cry.

And what was up with that guy crying? If I was one of the other guys I would have slapped him with my dish towel. Geez, what a pain in the butt. Just what you need when you trying to function up to his standards. The other amazing thing was the guy who was talking back, I almost thought the chef was going to get rid of someone from both teams ( I know I would have been tempted)

I nearly fell off my sofa laughing when he fell apart right before service. Gordon voicing cracking when he was yelling at him to stop was priceless.

I felt bad for Waffle House girl too. How dumb of the other girls not put her on eggs. Duh - what do short order cooks know how to do??

I hope he stays on just for the sake of entertainment! Did you see the previews for next week, he starts his crying again! Oh Lord, it's going to be great :rotfl:

oo i would have been tempted to dump the smart aleck guy too!!

I agree! He had some guts to start saying that stuff to Ramsay.

Ooooh. Gordon is back and he brings teh sexaaaaaah. Yes, Chef!

Not many standouts on this season premiere. We liked Vinnie and Tiffany (who looks remarkably like a favored ex-co-worker of mine) from the opening promos.

Eddie won't last but we hope he goes far.

And, as far as names go, from here on in this epi, I forget who is who.

I was torn as to who had done worse, blue or red... oh wait, Aaron is gona go VERY SOON. You DO NOT leave the line. Yo butt smells like toast, buddy. Sorry.

Red had performed worse though. And, Tiffany, really...if you cannot fry an egg, WHY ARE YOU THERE??? In two hours she could not produce. I liked her, I wanted her to stay..but that was pathetic. I kept screaming for her to get Waffle House girl's help (I bet she CAN fry eggs!!!!) rather than playing the snooty card. Was looking down on someone more important than...oh, WINNING???! Joanna wasn't good...Aaron wasn't good...that other guy who sassed back (was that Josh?) wasn't good. They will go but fill in as cannon fodder for now... if you cannot even fry eggs...bu-BYE

I am so delighted this show's back on. My summer is made.

The person who wins the competition will run an entire restaurant. That is an extremely high stress job. He needs to know how well the contestants hold up under stress. Yes, part of it is for ratings, but it is also a way of separating the boys from the men...so to speak. If someone can't hold up to the Chef yelling at them, how are they going to handle corporate yelling, customers yelling, supplier problems, employee issues, etc.?

For the record:

Vinnie and Joanna are both (to quote Harvey P. Walden, III) wastes of sperm.

And wouldn't it be divine if the Asian Cowboy walked away with the whole competition? I can dream, can't I?

i watched and was surprised how mean the ladies were to julia
they couldnt even get an egg cooked

It drove me crazy when they wouldn't let Julia do anything. So what if she works at Waffle House :confused3 ; everyone has to start somewhere.

I knew there were going to be problem when the girls were agreeing not to backstab and work as a team. Yeah right.

Joanna has to go. She is nasty.

I loved it when the women said they will work good together. I cracked up. I told my dd-"na ah-women can't work together when they all want the same prize" I figured there would even be some *itch slapping going on in red teams kitchen :rotfl2:
Us women can be catty :guilty: at times.
There was no reason for them to pick on Julia. That was just plain mean-but she also needed to step up to the plate and take over-not just whine about it. You can't be a push over on that show.

:dance3:
