Hi all!!

Been back from WDW about a week now, and have failed miserably to get a post to work on the DIS. Obviously the boards dont like me anymore!! This is about attempt number 12, and if it doesnt work I will have to PM it so a kind DISer can post it for me!!

Anyway, we didnt have our very BEST trip this time, but had a fair old time none the less!! Weather was changeable to say the least, with week one being scorching and humid, first bit of week 2 was wet, windy and cold (thanks Wilma!!) but the rest was pretty much perfect - about 77 most days, ideal for "theme parking"!!!

Had to buy fleeces for Fantasmic AGAIN, as we had the dinner package on the only cold night (day after Wilma) that there was!! Not quite as chilly as December though!

High points of the trip: most definately the Polynesian! LOVED IT!!! What a fantastic resort - we are fully converted Poly fans now (I wasnt that fussed before we stayed there!). The concierge building was amazing and even DH was well impressed! Kids made friends with Chef Dick who "high fived" them when ever he saw them. A really fantastic experience, that I hope we will be able to repeat one day!

We all enjoyed MNSSHP - not too busy, even though we did Halloween itself. Did loads of rides, the costumes were so cool and the atmosphere was better than MVMCP (although I think the weather spoilt that for us!). Hallowishes was brilliant and so was the parade.

None of us were that fussed about Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was OK, but I dont think we would bother again. Very dark and gloomy room and I thought the Savannahs were too "staged" which made me feel uncomfortable.

We flew back Virgin Premium Economy which again, was just OK. As I got a very good price, then it was probably JUST about worth it, but there is no way its worth £300 each way!! Being used to bulkhead head seats in economy (due to my son) I didnt find PE hugely different. Staff were a tiny bit more attentive - though we shared the PE crew on the outbound trip (we were in the very small economy section behind PE and I think they were short staffed!). Wouldnt bother again unless it was super cheap. Rather save the miles to fly Upper Class.

Food was disappointing this year, especially onsite. Disppointing meals at Boma (dinner), Crystal Palace, Kona Cafe and Whispering Canyon Cafe. Le Cellier, Ohana and 1900 PK Fare were still great though! Hated hated hated the Beirgarten and Jiko. Also, dont go near the Noodle Bar at MK - YUK!!!

Offsite places offered much better value and I would think carefully about making too many ADRs next trip. Really liked Red Lobster, Chilis and Tony Roma's. Bahama Breeeze and Race Rock were both only OK this time.

If anyone has any questions - please ask! I will be doing a brief trippie.

In "other news", pleased to report that I had my 23 week anomaly scan at the hospital this week. Baby is fine (albeit) BIG and wasnt shy about revealing certain parts of the anatomy - I can safely say that we are having a BOY!! Chuffed to bits about this and looking forward to his arrival in February!!

Hope all DISers are well!!

Welcome home, Allie! :wave2:

I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at The Polynesian. How were the new rooms? They look wonderful from the photo's I have seen.

I'm surprised to here about Kona - we had a great lunch here in August. I thought the dinner menu was a little overpriced, though. I totally agree with you about AKL - we weren't overwhelmed either. I really didn't like the room
or location.

What did you not enjoy about Jiko? I have heard a few negative reports recently.

Looking forward to your report! :)

PS - Glad your baby is doing okay! :goodvibes

Welcome home Allie!!

Not quite as chilly as December though!
No, I cannot believe that :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would absolutely love to hear all about the Poly and see any photos you may have taken!!

Fantastic news about your imminent arrival :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

PS I am glad you managed to post at last!!!

Welcome home Allie ~

As much as I love WDW restaurants some of the off-site ones are lovely too. Have to agree with you about Red Lobster and Tony Romas haven't tried Chillis yet.

Can't wait to read your trip report :)

Welcome Home Allie

I was only asking Karen about you yesterday.

I know what you mean about the Animal Kingdom Lodge, although we have never stayed there we have visted it on more than one occasion and I also found it quite dark.

Great news about the baby :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading your trippie. Glad you were able to finally post.
