So last night I go to schedule our upcoming trip in September, for the 18th-27th, dates that are on the 40% off postcard. However, I was making a reservation for Pop Century, and I believe the postcard states it's for Deluxe resorts. Anyways, the CM says she sees a PIN under my name, and I get a rate with taxes of about $63.50 per night at Pop for a preferred room. Now, eventually I hope I have to change it and pay full price, as we are anticipating free DDP. But, I thought this might be useful to know for others, especially if you're traveling during one of the other periods the 40% off postcard mentions. Maybe it was just a coincidence, and my offer had nothing to do with the postcard offer, but it may be worth a try for others.

I got a 40% off in the mail, too....three days after we returned home from WDW! I was hoping to convince my husband to go again in December, but I don't think we will.

I wish I could give this postcard to someone...I assume they are non-transferable? What about giving one to a neighbor with similar address? I hate for that great discount to go to "waste"!

Unfortunatley, they are not transferable.I think they are linked by name as well as address.could be wrong though.:goodvibes

Its a shame to waste it, but it is not transferable. Here is a link to a very helpful thread on the Codes and Rates subforum at the top of the Resorts Board http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1686236

Can you tell me what dates offer is good for? I am (fingers crossed) hopeing to get one, want to book Deluxe for 1st week of August, 40% would be a nice savings.

I'll try to post that later tonight. I'm at work right now, and have a basketball game after that, so it will probably be 9:00 or so.

If you go to the link for the thread I posted above you will see that the 40% postcards are showing dates of:

January 06th to 17th
January 20th to 31st
February 24th to March 5th
March 30th to April 8th
August 10th to September 27th
October 19th to November 1st
November 9th to November 15th
December 7th to December 17th

There's a LOT of good information there about the discounts.

i too booked with the 40% off code for September 20-27th at Music, I booked with the hope that eventually I will be able to call and change to the regular rate with free dinning, but somewhere on here I thought I read that free dinning was only going to be offered with Moderate and above resorts not value. I hope that is not the case. Has anyone else read that? and do you know if it is true?

Of course Disney can...and will...do what they want every year but I can tell you that people staying at any resort could have used the free dining offers for the past 3 years.

Hi - I thought the 40% off was only for deluxe too, but was offered by the second CM I talked to - to be able to use it on my existing reservation at a moderate. The first CM who checked deluxe pricing for me did not mention that!

I booked the CBR for October 19-24th.with the 40% off postcard. I inquired about WL and CBR. The difference was 370.00 so I took the Mod. Did not inquire about values. For once in my life I was able to take advantage of a code offer. My room at the CBR is a preferred one. Hubby will like being close to the food court. Heresa hoping the pool is all done and open by my Ocotber date.

Disney has already made the Free Dining program availalbe to the TAs booking UK visitors. And they are not being offered Free Dining for values.

This to me may be a sign. Remember that last year the UK agents were the first to have the new DDP updates. And despite these boards SCREAMING that "they won't do the same plan for the US" the plan we now have is EXACTLY the same as the DDP offered to the UK residents......

i had read that disney wasn't going to offer free dining with value, and if they aren't offering it to UK then they probably won't offer to US. But here is hoping. It is just myself and 10 year old daughter, probably won't be a huge savings anyway? Not sure... Last time we went we had the dining plan paid for it not free dining my daughter ate off the kids menu at the time as she was 8 and it did seem like we wasted a lot of food. But still hoping cause Character dinners are so expensive especially if your not a big eater...

if my dsil booked our trip w/ta and we are all on the same package { 4 adults/2 kids} do they have to have all names in the party on the ressie info ? and if so if i get a code { a girl can dream} can we use the code since all in same suite/package. ???...just thouth i'd ask...if not i can realax aboutthe codes and hope that dsil gets one...hehe...

They did remove the campsites last year from the free dining. Always a possibility. :confused3

As far as I know, the campsites were never eligible for the free dining - especially since they allow up to 10 people for each approximately $50 campsite.
