Tomorrow is the big day- DH is leaving for Ft. Bliss, TX in the early AM of Thursday. He has to report at 9 PM tomorrow at the airport Radisson. I am in a fog. Trying to be brave. Want to just crawl in bed with Ben and Jerry's and cry. They are to depart for Iraq in early Feb.

Good news is I am chugging along in week 9 of my pregnancy...my two boys want a little sister. We shall see. DH told me that they are letting them come home for births, so maybe he will be able to see baby be born afterall. Due date is set at March 28, but am hoping for an earlier date due to some medical history problems in the last pregnancy and now needing a date to tell the Army to release DH.

The official mobilization ceremony was last night and some congresspeople were there to wish them well. It was moving to see some family of other soldiers come from a long way to say their goodbyes...lots of hugs and tears. I'm sure that will be us tomorrow.

Your family is in all our prayers and thoughts.

A grateful nation thanks your DH and YOU for all your sacrifices.

Hang in there Alice! I have been to some of those departure ceremonies in my state (there is one tomorrow). They are incredibly emotional events.

Best wishes to you and your family. The choice your family has made to serve is a noble one, and a challenging one. You are strong, and you will survive.

Bless you and your DH and your family!

God bless your family, and may the time go quickly. Hugs to you.

Good wishes, God's blessings for him, and you all. A big thankyou for the sacrifices you and so many families have done and are doing. Hopefully we can help the days go swiftly for you.

We feel the pain, from a parent's perspective.

Our son left for Ft. Bliss yesterday at 11:00AM. Gave his 3yo and 5yo boys hugs and kisses and got into car with motorcycle on trailer behind and headed out for the 1813.1 mile trip, total time of 30 hrs. and 28 mins. according to AAA.

As of 5:00PM today he had 500 miles to go.

He has to report on Thursday also.

Prayers for you and your's and all the other service personel and their loved ones.

Also for my fellow Charlotte County residents.

John

(((hugs)))

I have friends there too.

God Bless you all!

 My thoughts and prayers are with you. My daughter was in your shoes in January 03-her Navy Corpsman husband shipped out. It was a very difficult several days for her. I hope you have a good support system. Thanks to both your DH and yourself for your sacrifice.

My BIL is leaving next week. We are having a HUGE going away party for him this Sat. Over 100 people will be there to send him off. He has two young daughters and it will be so hard for them all.

  Thank you to you and your family. Hang in there. My BIL just came home for two weeks for the birth of his first baby. He has since left again but he at least got to be there. Again thankyou for the sacrifices you are all making...and BTW...eat as much Ben and Jerry's as you want...you deserve it!
