Having Second thoughts about MK photo shoot

I booked mine today for 11-12-11 for 7:30am. Our wedding is the 10th and I tried to get the 11th but they said her computer wouldn't allow it? So we have the morning of the 12th. It would be nice to have those night time-ish shots but I'm happy with anything really! :chuck I don't know if we will be back within the 1 year time frame so I figured I mind as well take it!

We have been going back and forth about having the pictures. I think we both really like the idea of having these unique photos, but they are kind of a budget buster. We had decided to keep them since I kept getting upset whenever I thought of canceling them, but now I have been reading that everyone's times are changing to around 7:45 am. I was really wanting to have the pictures taken while the castle and rides were lit up. If I have them while it's light outside, I'm thinking I might as well just cancel them, save the $1100 and just have a photopass photographer take our picture in front of the castle one day.

I don't know, the pictures of couples in daylight are just not as special to me, so it kind of does seem like a waste. I had no idea that if you got married at Disney, you could get the pictures done whenever you wanted. That's great to know!

I feel exactly the same, as much as the thought of that early morning is a killer and the cost being able to have the shoot is actually one of the reason I want a Disney wedding and I don't find the pictures in daylight as special as those dark shots and unless the times are back to normal by 2012 I think i will be re-thinking if I want to spend $1100 on it.

Just a suggestion if any of you who arnt doing the shoot but would like the the same sort of pics in front of the castle in your wedding outfits then you could use a pic from your actual wedding cut it out in photoshop and merge it with a pic of the castle - a few filter tricks etc and you can get the same effect. You do have to be good at using photoshop to get a spot on result and it will take some time, but same effect more or less.

I thought about this too. I was wondering if we took night time shots in front of the castle during the regular park times and gave those photos to our photographer on a cd if they would be able to do this. I would pay them for the work. We only wanted a couple of castle shots anyway just to hang in the house. This will be a great price saver and the money save can go toward something else for the wedding , like a character.

I think if your DF is totally against it, it's probably going to hard to pull off. I had one and I loved it. I didn't get the pictures yet, but the experience was wonderful. We had Amy as our photographer, for our wedding and DP, as well so I felt really comfortable around her. We scheduled it for 2 days after the wedding, so it wasn't 2 mornings of waking up at 4am (We had an Epcot ceremony). Was it worth the money? Well I haven't seen the pictures yet but it was something I really wanted to do, so I'm going to say yes. DH even wore a different special outfit for the photos (I'll post it later in the TR).

But it's a personal choice. I wanted to focus on food, fun, and photos, so the photoshoot was part of our budget.
