Praline....OMG...I sent that to the right person then! A friend of mine sent it to me. It already said the Disneyland stuff.....I just cracked up - what freaks...ok so not so bad if it was getting crazy wild at mardi gras then!
Chan~ that why we leave for mardi gras :lmao:

I had Gastric Bypass last April and I have lost 110 pounds.
Howdy Lisa! another RNY gal :hippie:
I hear you about the folding :rotfl2: :rotfl2: thats exactly what I do. I actually have a friend who had the surgery and she says hers looks like pankcakes with a slap of butter on the top :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have helped friends trhough the TT before and I have seen first hand the pain that is involved :scared1: I just have to get motivated enough to hate the extra skin to brave the pain :rotfl2:

Has anyone ever used their make up case!
Nope... I could never find a make up case I liked and would fit my bare Ms and other stuff just right.... until I was walking in Walmart one day and found .... drumroll please.... a huge fishing tackle box :thumbsup2 all those little compartments fit those little pots of color PERFECT! I keep them turned upside down so I can see/read them and I am all organized and perfect! Total cost $10 :rotfl2:
The Bare M cases doesn't hold near enough for me... in my tackle box I keep my make up removers/toner... shoot all of it:love:

My nutritionist said the biggest mistake Americans make is with portion size. If she could just tell everyone one thing to do to be more healthy she said it would be to limit portions. I portion out everything and it helps a lot.
Yup and Lisa and I know all about portion control dont we :lmao: :lmao:

Another thing....PLAN AHEAD.
Yup people dont plan to fail, they fail to plan :thumbsup2

I went to a Target I normally don't go to today and guess what they are selling? Bare M
Is this the Target on Clearview?!

Channing that ebay woman sounds kind of scary... i would pay her before she starts stalking you :lmao:

Brooke, I went to the Westbank Target today. That's where they had the Bare M.

I am off to pick up Hannah to school. She forgot her library book at home today and I have a feeling she is going to be a grouch this afternoon. :rotfl: Just wait 'til she's 15 and has PMS!!! :rotfl:

They have a target on the westbank? WHERE? I haven't been down in that area in forever as 310 is faster to kenner than going to the west bank :rotfl:

That Ebay lady is a freak. She tied up my paypal acct while she dilly dallied around on sending the items back. She can just sit and wait for her refund...I'll do it when I get around to it....I am too busy Dissing to bother with her. she is getting nasty though....said she'd report me if she isn't refunded by 3/13. Whatever. I am soured on it all at this point. She asked me how I became so "evil"....I told her she's a manipulator and a scammer. It's getting ugly.

Well, I have to get moving away from the computer. This day just flew by....I am at 11 points now. I am good. :thumbsup2 I can make it til dinner and that will be great....my bad time is after dinner snacking. :sad2: Must mean my family stresses me out when they're home.:rotfl: I can be good all day by myself, they get home and that's it.:confused3 I get neurotic and start stuffing myself.:rotfl2:

Talk to ya later!:goodvibes

My tough time of the day is right NOW! I just ate a WW Choc. chip Cookie Dough Sundae! They are great... but I'm still a little hungry.:rolleyes1
When I see the kids snacking after they get home, I really have to have self control! I'm at 13 points and having a salad and tuna for dinner so I'm doing pretty good, I guess! Hang in there - 11 points at this time of the day is great!

Off to help with homework - hope everyone has a good night!
I'm ready for AI tonight!:)

Great job!!!! :thumbsup2 I know I am good if I am somewhere with 11-13 pts. My afternoon snack was a little bag of microwave popcorn - low fat indiv size. I put my cheesey powder on it and I LOVE it as much as Doritos.:rotfl: :rotfl: It is 2 pts.:thumbsup2 I know what you mean about when the kids come home....I sometimes have a really small snack and then wait til they come home and have a bit more with them while they're snacking.

I like the WW frozen desserts, too! :goodvibes I have several of the little cheesecakes in my freezer. I am kinda scared because they've been there for a long time though. I love sliced strawberries and a dab of Cool Whip free on top. Yum.

Oh!! Yay! AI tonight! Great:goodvibes

Keep it up girls!!! 2:30-4:30 is my danger time as well!! So far so good, but I did just crack open a ice cold can of Diet Coke (which works wonders for me!!)

DH really started watch his weight after Christmas when he peaked at 211 pounds (his highest to date) Last night he weighed in 187 (where he likes to be)- 24 pounds gone in 3.5 months! I am so proud of him for watching his portions and not gobbling down 1000 calories in junk snacks after dinner!! (I still wish it was that easy for me!! )

Kristin, LOL I remember those conversations with my ex husband. I would bring the stuff into the house quietly and put it away and he would never notice.

"I have had this forever...you mean you don't remember when I bought it? Then give him that look :lmao:

This cracks me up because that is SO ME!!!
If I'm home alone I am the world's greatest dieter...I'm counting carbs and calories, I'm drinking water, I'm making great choices:thumbsup2

But when DH and the boys get here::sad2: IT'S TOTAL FOOD FREEFALL:eek:

What is up with that:confused3

Kristin- Made it almost through the first day without carbs. I am doing pretty good right now and I am bound and determined I am not going to cheat. (even though a glass of wine is calling my name!)

Someone asked about the American Girl Store. It is a lot of fun. You can make a reservation for brunch with your dolls. I believe the theater is getting ready to close soon so it might be a good time to go. You can also get their hair done etc. Check out their website. It is usually packed on the weekends so plan on at least a 1/2 day there. Have fun!

Nice chatting with everyone. Can't wait for my trip to the GF. Hopefully I am skinny!

WTG!! I find that if I can keep it up the first week (and through the first weekend) I am golden!! Keep it up!!!

Channing: Funny thing is, I don't even have a dog!:lmao: Just had the news on while I was making dinner one evening. They had an around town reporter do a segment on the doggy daycare I just thought the cameras sounded cool. I take the boys past this huge (by city standards) doggy daycare "Biscuits & Bones" some days after school. It's on our way home, it usually has a huge crowd of nannies and strollers outside the windows watching the dogs run around. The kids love it!:goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your ebay nightmare. I've never sold anything on ebay, only purchased. I prefer to sell stuff on craigslist, no shipping ;) I just leave the items with my doorman in the lobby and the customer picks up the stuff and gives the cash to my doorman for me. Never have to see the people.:goodvibes

Brooke: I never meant the Bare M make up case was to hold ALL my stuff :rotfl: I use it to hold my everyday make up and to travel with. I like the space for the brushes. I just think it's very well thought out.

Well, you ladies kept me motivated on WW all day! :goodvibes I didn't have time for lunch so I grabbed a Special K Protein Meal bar that someone recommended, it was strawberry vanilla - yummy! And only 3pts!

I had a nice dinner of baked chicken with sides of two veggies. Now I'm waiting to have my WW Eclair and a glass of skim milk while I watch AI :happytv: .

Feel like it's now off topic :lmao: but has anyone gone to Il Mulino NY Trattoria at the Swan for dinner? It used to be Palio's, it's been renovated and reopened under a new name. We have dinner reservations on Father's Day. DH is an Italian food snob. He grew up in Italy and his dad had a restaurant in Florence, so he knows food. He loved Palio's. It was his favorite restaurant. The seafood risotto was to die for. I'm hoping the new place is just as good! The menu looks really yummy!

Gotta give the kids their baths.

Have a good evening gals!

I have oggled Vutton bags for years but everyone around here carrys knockoffs so I won't carry a real one because I just will be lumped in with the knockoff people. I am eyeing a Kate Spade at Nordstroms for the summer.

Me Too! I would like a LV but too many knockoffs same with KS :)

Hi Gals~this thread is going 2-40 today I might have to sneak on at work on my lunchhour ;)

Channing~doing good today saving my last points for AI with a cup of coffee! :yay:

Kristin~I'm in Naperville but grew up in Elmhurst area. My trick with my "new purchases" is I leave them in my trunk and slowly bring them in the house. Then I say "oh my mom gave this to me"

Speaking of "ta-ta's"...I saw on Oprah a place downtown Chicago~Intimacy ~who services the well-endowed, so I made an appointment, and wonderful lady fit me perfectly! She says the straps should not be doing the work just your back band, I have permanent indents in my shoulders! Their prices range from so-so to WOW! To me it is worth having a well-supporting bra because I am soo large that if I dont, I look heavier than I am. Lets just say I am quite aways up the alphabet!
Also another thing they sell is dimmers, you put them on and no more headlights! :upsidedow

Thanks for all of the WW talk...it has REALLY encouraged me today!!!

YAY!! Me too!!! I did it. Well, unless I blow it in the next 3 hours.:rotfl: :rotfl: I don't think I will though....all this talk has me a bit more motivated.:thumbsup2 I also walked today and did some DDR with my daughters.:cool1: I want my tight vacation clothes to be a bit less tight.

Let's see if we can do it again tomorrow. WE CAN!!!!!!!:cheer2:

I ran out and tried that Oprah bra as soon as it came out... OUCH is all I can say :rotfl:
i too am a total bra freak! It is worth it to me to wear a cheap $10 shirt with a $70 bra under it :rotfl:
A good size fitted bra makes all the difference in the world!

Good going all you losers!!!! I need to get back on track myself.... my diet is way different so I won't bother posting it but I really need to push myself more to get these last 10 pounds gone :scared1:

I can't do sugar at all... anymore than 5 grams of sugar and I am sick as a dog so I don't have that to worry about... The further you are out surgery wise though the harder it gets to lose weight. I eat about the same portions as a normal person would eat now... well not pig out but a normal sized portion... like maybe 6 oz total at a meal... i just have to be careful what those 6oz consist of :rotfl:

Remember your protein!!! Going low carb is ok.... but a much better option is to watch the kinds of carbs you are eating... good carbs vs bad carbs. We ladies REALLY need our fiber!!!!!!! Look for whole grain breads with extra fiber... fiber one cereal is loaded with fiber and low in sugar. The bad thing about no carb or super low carb is you can get mighty "clogged up":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The human body needs protein, fat and carbs... just not saturated fats or simple carbs. It's so much more complicated than just wiping carbs out of your diet.
You also have to remember that you need good fats!!!
dont be scared of the Italian dressing for your salads... many vits are fat soluable ...meaning they can only be absorbed when they are eaten with a fat.... so if you eat that nice large healthy salad with no olive oil or Italian dressing you aren't getting many of the vits in the salad... also fats trigger a hormone in your brain telling you that you are full... no fats not hormone trigger.
Good fats - all natural organic peanut butter (not the sugar jiffy stuff or those peanut butter cups :rotfl: )
olive oils
flaxseed oils
fish oil... I actually take fish oil pills every day :cheer2:
Notice i did not say potato chips :rotfl:

Protein is really the key to losing weigh!! Your muscles eat protein.... if you are working out at all and not getting enough protein your losing muscle tone instead of gaining it. This is why body builders drink those protein drinks :rotfl:
more lean muscle means less flab and smaller sized clothes :cheer2:
They have great protein drinks out there... I know I lived on them for 4 months and still take 1 shake a day to get my protein requirements in. I shoot for 100 grams of protein a day. I dont always make it but that is my daily goal. Tuna fish is great for protein!!!! Black beans...really any kind of bean is good for both protein and fiber ... bonus points :cheer2:
Boiled shrimp (not battered and fried :rotfl: ) is almost all protein :cheer2:

By the time you get a 100 grams of protein down you in one day, you are not going to feel like snacking at night :rolleyes1

So the goal is to find good fat/low carb foods that are super high in protein :cheer2:

Anyone do Fit day? I belong to fitday . com and they have a great food tracker/ fitness tracker with all kinds of bells and whistles. Anyone on any diet plan can use it to keep track of their intake.... GREAT PROGRAM!!!!

Also when on a diet make sure to take your vitamins!!!!!!
We ladies have high vitamin requirements (Lisa and I have even higher ones!)
Take a multi ... take a calcium but know the different kinds of calcium suppliments... Calcium carbonate will only be absorbed if you take it with a meal... calcium citrate can be taken without a meal...
Calcium helps you lose weight :cheer2:
Also many ladies who are losing weight end up enemic!
Do not take an iron pill with calcium! The two cross eachother out (in the most simple terms to explain it)
Take and iron in the morning and a calcium at night.

Take iron with Vit C and both are absorbed better :cheer2:
All this sounds confusing but it is my life :rotfl:

If you want a low fat/low sugar protein mix I would suggest Matrix perfect chocolate. YUMMY:thumbsup2
I mix it in my coffee in the morning for a protein packed latte :rotfl:

I ran out and tried that Oprah bra as soon as it came out... OUCH is all I can say :rotfl:

I tried the Oprah bra too....no way I looked like I had cones in my shirt.
The lady at Intimacy said with my size I should not be wearing that type of bra.

Tomorrow is a new day..Good Luck Everyone :wizard:

I don't know if you ever visit www.allears.net but there are reviews for that restaurant. There is also a menu, the reviews are up and down, but the good news is that I see a seafood risotto. Don't put all your stock in the reviews, alot of the time I don't agree. Use them to be warned, but then check it out yourself.

I am very familiar with your neck of the woods, I am from SI and we're in the city at least once every other week or so. My DS loves the NBA store (we haven't been there in a while) and my DD loves American Girl. We usually just come in to meet my DH after work and grab dinner and shop or walk around. Sometimes we go downtown in Soho or Tribeca (great restaurants). I giggled when you mentioned the guys on the corners with the bags. My DD hates those guys!!

Hope this helps!:flower3:

Caio!

I forgot they had reviews on that site!:thumbsup2 I'll go check it out.

I know from experience to take the reviews with a grain of salt :goodvibes

Hello Neighbor!:flower3: I went to a private party at the American Girl store last year, it was fun looking at all the dolls. The party had nothing to do with the store or the dolls they just used the store. We got to walk around and have cocktails through out the whole store. It was fun. DH and DS4 like to go to the NBA store. I've never been there. I only go to Fifth Avenue below 57th St when necessary. I try to avoid it otherwise. I just can't deal with all the tourist. I hate how I'm trying to walk to the World of Disney and you get 20 people taking their pictures in front of Tiffany's and Trump Tower. Then come to the corner and they stop and stare UP. Can you please admire the skyscrappers from somewhere else other than the crosswalk!!:rotfl: I try to hit World of Disney when they first open at 10am. The crowds are few and I can actually shop!

Speaking of NYC, did anyone watch Real Housewives of NYC last night? Jill (the one who took her daughter to detox) lives three blocks away from me. I go to the Starbuck all the time in front of her building. Those ladies are some characters!

Well, need to grocery shopping today and stock up on my WW stuff. I go shopping outside the city, the prices are drastically lower! Plus I love super supermarkets! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful day ladies!:woohoo:
