Hi all!!

Busy day so far here. DS's preschool teacher has the flu and is out for the whole week! So I stayed today to help the 2 aides out- it was maddnes!! :rotfl:

Let's see what I remember...

Brook- I like fabric C.
Ditto to what you said about carbs :thumbsup2 . No carbs is bad, some carbs are good- they just need to be smart carbs (like vegetables, perferably those high in fiber). Also a multi vitamin is essential. And lots of water to help flush everything out! ;)

Channing- I like the new shirts!!

I laughed about the strapless bra comment since I am one of those itty bitty girls!! :rotfl2: Not a big fan of spanks either for the muffin top aspect- I do have a waist cincher that I pull out if necessary :rolleyes1

Have a great day!
Kristin

Oh those T-shirts and that Mickey Safari dress are so cute. Must be fun to have girls. I've been buying the boys Disney T-shirts as they go on sale at the World of Disney NYC. Just got the little one a Little Einsteins shirt 50% off. I'm so surprised they have short sleeve shirts on sale in March! :goodvibes

I found 100 calorie coffee cakes at the supermarket today!! Can't wait to devour them this evening with a class of skim milk while watching AI!!! :happytv: Also bought the WW cream cheese, hope it's good.

Oh wow about Il Mulino! I don't know what to do! The prices are high, but if the meal was worth it I won't mind. We've never been to Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill - DH would never eat "fake" Italian food. He practically walked out of Mama Melrose! :lmao: We did eat once in Alfredos, the food was HORRIBLE but we had so much fun with the Italian wait staff. They were speaking to each other (in Italian) how these stupid Americans order noodles in white sauce! Well my DH responds to them in Italian and they almost died! :rotfl: One waitress was mortified! She couldn't stop apologizing! It was so much fun talking to them and hearing their stories. :lmao: Ugh! Going to have to think of another "special" place for Father's Day Dinner that's kid friendly!

Wishes: World of Disney NYC is fun. It's a nice Disney fix. I really like how they have the characters on the third floor available for picture taking. They let you use your own camera too so you don't have to purchase their overpriced photo. I take the boys there right before a trip so they get used to being around the characters. On the second floor, you can purchase many items they sell in WDW. Cups, glasses, mugs, pasta, candy, housewares, etc... (Great when you forget a souvenier for someone!) They have toys, books, dvds, etc... The main floor they have seasonal in the front then the princesses/HSM in the back. They have great sales.

I've been trying to go there every other week picking up stuff for arrival boxes I'm making for the boys. I saw "Peggy's Sweets" website and said I can do that myself and just ship it down ahead of time. DH can take the boys to the arcade while I set up the boxes on the table with a Mickey tablecloth. I have to go see if Kate's Paperie has the boxes she uses. I'd rather use a disposable box rather than a basket. I've been searching everywhere for items to put in the boxes. I need more stuff for my little one.

ESPN Zone is fun, loud, VERY LOUD but fun. DH loves it there. I'm thinking about having his 40th birthday there (in 2 years :lmao: ). When ever we go to Times Square I love to stop at Dave and Thomas' Popcorn. The chocolate peanut butter is to die for. There is so much chocolate!!popcorn::

Oh, I love the Spanx Powerpanties. Never had a problem with them:goodvibes

Thanks to all our WW talk, I made it another day (well, the days not over, but I'm on track and motivated!):thumbsup2 I feel so much better today knowing I have WW foods in the kitchen!

They won't let her eat any candy now and when she asked when she could have some, they told her when she is older and has a job... in her little mind, the 3 things go hand in hand with anything else in life!!

I guess she even thought it wasn't worth 50 bucks :rotfl2:

She needs to put it away and save it for Halloween....maybe somebody will buy it then???? Maybe this little guy would like to be a cross dressing clown?

We ate at the new place in Epcot in Italy. My husband was born and raised in Sicily and he said it was good for american italian food. Not as good as in Italy but he hasn't found really anything that good here in America. I always like to listen to the servers talk to one another in their language just to hear what they are saying and then they are so surprised when you talk to them in their language.

Now that Eyore is CUTE... still not sure what that lady was thinking when she charged you 50 for that skirt :lmao:

Oh Dave is going to soooo ground me from this thread:rotfl:
I have been in emails with the lady who did your shoes Channing and ...well... I bought more than 1 pair lets just leave it at that :rolleyes1

Anybody tried the new VS bra that is supposed to fit like custom?! IFit or something like that?

Kristin, I have helped out some at DD's preschool last year and PreK this year and it is sooo funny that they are just wild when their "real" teacher is gone. How many children are in your DS's class??

Channing, I am laughing so hard about that skirt reappearing ... Scary indeed. I still can't believe she charged you so much for that and sent you what she did.

I LOVE those Easter shirts too ... Brooke, I am avoiding ordering the flipflops Channing posted last week. I am going to try to recreate something similar for Hannah. I do make some of her bows and I think I could do the flip flops as well. If I ever get around to making some, I will post pics. Maybe sometime before May ... :rolleyes1

Who do you all think is going home on AI??? I think it's Kristy Lee ...

Hi, Kristin! There were TWELVE kids sick from Jojo's class room today. That's half the kids. :scared1: I am nervous that Jo is going to catch that awful flu that's going around right before our trip. (knocking wood and praying here) DH had it and he was so sick. It literally lasted 2.5 weeks before he started getting better. He is still not 100%. The dr. said people are getting pnemonia from it. I am sure I spelled that wrong.:rotfl: At least I didn't write ammonia....probably spelled that wrong, too.:rotfl: Lucy was mad about that poor Eeyore being dressed up like a circus clown. She is his number one fan.;)

Praline, you will love her stuff. I don't know how comfy they are for a whole day at WDW, though....I think the girls will wear them for special dining etc. Or we'll bring comfy shoes in the backpack. They are just such girly cute shoes.princess:

Andrea,
that is great if you can make them!:goodvibes I spent a ton on bows and shoes. I just don't have the patience to try. I used to be so crafty til I had kids. :rolleyes1 I cannot keep the bad AI ones straight in my head. Only the ones I like - and that's not many.:rotfl: Was Kristy Lee the one that did "Eight Days a Week?"

I am doing good on my WW points.:goodvibes It is just getting back into sync. I know I am going to blow it on vacay, but at least I will feel better about myself.

DD's teaching assistant has pneumonia right now. She is in her sixties and is at home and resting, but doing well ... We have been lucky so far not to get the flu ...

Channing, I am not saying I CAN make the shoes, but I want to try! Part of me thinks it would be much easier to just BUY and enjoy rather than try to make and get frustrated/annoyed! :rotfl:

Here's to hoping all our kids stay well for Spring Break and Easter ... We are heading to San Antonio next weekend! Wish it was the Grand, however.

Hey girls!!

Catching up reading your posts!!! I am giggling the whole time!!!

I wish my DD was young enough for all those cute clothes and accessories!!

Hope everyone stays well for spring break and the holidays!!!

I thought I was doing well on WW again, but I'm obviously not realizing everything I'm putting in my mouth. Next week, I'll have to start actually writing it all down and logging it. I got lazy and wasn't doing that. Exercise is going great, so at least that's a plus... I've gotten motivation from this thread, so keep up the good work ladies. I'll finally get back in ketosis and burning this 5 pounds off...

Channing -- did you know that people can take Tamiflu preventatively? If you think anyone gets it, take them immediately to the doc for a flu test (nose culture with a long q-tip looking thing) and if they test positive, the doc can prescribe tamiflu. It did wonders for my family when we had the flu last year. Of course, the pharmacist didn't tell me you could take it preventively until I got it, but at least Randy started taking it and didn't get it from us. PD that no one gets sick!

Marci, it just really snuck up on DH. Whatever this is that 's going around is very sneaky. Whatver DH had just started with a sore throat and then slowly creeped thru his whole body. It was upper respiratory, sinus, intestinal, achy...fevery...it was AWFUL. Somebody just brought Tamiflu up to me a couple days ago. I had forgotten about it, but they said you have to take it within the first 48 hrs of getting symptoms. I heard people are having this hang on for 6 weeks! The friend I went to bfast w/yesterday is an RN and she got pnemonia from it and took mega antibiotics and it still hung on.

Kelly sounds super sick. I called her yesterday....From what she described it sounds like she is getting that bug.:guilty:

Marci, thanks to this thread I have been good on WW for 2 days. :thumbsup2 Not much, but it is kind of motivating just knowing I've been able to do it and others are, too. I used to log everything I ate, too. That is great - and you're so right...I also have to remember EVERYTHING I sneak into my mouth counts.:rotfl: :rotfl: I sometimes catch myself reaching for a little something...and I think writing it down just ups the awareness so that I ask myself before I eat that Oreo, DO YOU NEED THAT?? :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK...well just had my little downer leave on the bus.....she asks me this morning if I booked BBB for her and Lucy. NOpe...I didn't. I was less than thrilled with the castle BBB last time and I am so sick of her picking that hair extension look. It came off in the GF pool and looked like a ferret was chasing her.:rotfl: :rotfl: So she tell me that BBB is the ONLY reason she likes to go to WDW and that she is bored with everything else. She wants to either go to HI next spring break or stay home. THEN, I am thinking about us getting on our Southwest flight next week when they are in trouble with the FAA for flying old planes.:rotfl: :rotfl: OMG....I am not a confident flyer, but I always felt safe with SWA. Now they pulled the rug out from under me. Great timing.:rotfl:

Channing

Channing, you were the first person I thought of when I was reading that article on the SW planes. Can you believe they did that! I have never flew SW. We usually stick with USAir.

Good morning!!

This flu season is bad!! It reminds me of the flu season of 1999-2000 when EVERYONE had it!! DS had it a mild version of it for Christmas, I had it for New Years (lasted about 2 weeks) and DS got it again early February (I got him to the Dr. for antibiotics immediately that time and he passed through it quckly) DH never got it this year (but he never gets sick). We didn't get flu shots this year, but from what I am hearing on TV it wouldn't have mattered since this flu was not protected by the vaccine.

Channing- get some Airborne to take before you get on the plane. I ALWAYS get sick when I fly- you can set a calendar by it- exactly 8 days after I fly I will get sick. I am great now about remembering Airborne for the flight down but I NEVER remember to pack it for the return trip- so I usually get sick from the return flight.

Don't worry about JoJo. She is just mad about BBB. Once she gets down there and sees everything she will be right back in the WDW spirit!!! And don't worry about SWA either- in light of everything that has happened to them this week- they are probably the safest airline right now and being extra cautious to avoid any more bad press!!!

Andrea- there are 21 in DS's preschool class :scared1: 3 plus the teacher were out all week. Hopefully with Spring Break coming up everyone can get healthy, and away from each other, and gets these germs out of here!!

I saw that VS bra. I have a $10 off coupon from VS right now, but I stocked up on the IPEX last summer before the trip, so I really don't need a new one

Kelly- I hope you feel better soon!!!

Marci- You can do it girl!! I always find it is SO much easier to diet when there are others around me doing it too (even if it is only through this type of chatting). Last year DH was NO HELP since he was still really active at work and eating what he wanted without consequence. But as that 25 pounds slowly crept up on him through the end of summer and this winter, he finally gets my struggle. I am super proud of him for losing it and he is much more cautious about what he wants to eat, which helps me tremendously (It is hard to eat grilled chicken and steamed veggies for dinner when he wants a Big Mac and dries!!) The food journal is an EXCELLENT place to start. When DH and I both got serious around New Years about getting healthy again, we kept track of EVERYTHING and wrote down all the calories. I thought I was eating pretty well until I saw I was eating close to 2000 calories per day :faint: If I eat any more than 1600-1700, I will gain weight. I don't remember how many he was eating, but it was easily 600+ than he should be.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/calorie-calculator/NU00598
This is a link to estimate the number of daily calories your body needs based on your gender, height, weight etc. To lose, you subtract 500 calories from the daily amount for a 1 pound per week loss.

Have a great day everyone!
