I can't even pack early for a 2 day trip to Boston!!! My clothes are in the dryer and I need to leave in 45 mins. I am going to be a wreck being ready for Disney in 17 days. I HATE THE PACKING PART!

tis a beautiful day here in Chicago...think it will be a pool day!

Tomorrow we are going to the Doorway to Dreams presentation at Woodfield cross your fingers maybe we will win a trip to Disney!!!! Nope we arent buying...just having fun!

Hey were is Evie?? I know she is going tomorrow too but they are going later....how was your trip?? also I need someone to talk about "so you think you can dance" the finale is this week!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 2 weeks left of work and til i student teach ....yikes im getting scared

Speaking of Griffey Jr.- how about him last night??????????? Welcome to the Southside baby!! I hope Paulie is nice and comfy sitting on that bench cuz its going to be awhile!!! Anyway, I think he looks A LOT like Kenny Williams!! I am glad they are coming home soon to play- it feels like forever since we went to a game! We have skybox seats for the Red Sox series next weekend, and ground floor seats for Tampa Bay at the end of the month. It sure is getting fun to watch again!!!!!!! (and even better, the cubs were shut out by the lowly Pirates!!!!!!! )

Best of luck in your prep for student teaching- you will have a blast!!!!!!!!!

Where's Brook been?? Don't her kids start school next week???

Happy Saturday, everyone!
My sis is leaving today to go back to England and will not return until December. I am a bit sad, but I am also exhausted from running around with her for 2 weeks!!!
I am looking forward to spending the next few weeks getting my house organized and getting ready for back to school! I hope to focus on some more things for ME this fall in terms of activities and new plans for myself.

I know from reading these boards that I'm not the only one that constantly has Disney on the brain. Well today at a stop light I was messing with my satellite radio and programed Orlando's weather into my car - I live in NC. I'll do anything to feel closed to Disney. December can't get here fast enough! -Lisa.

Ugh what does that mean? You like the GF 50000000 times better than the Poly, right? Wahhhhhh!!! I want my GF back!

Well the GF is my all time favorite...I really like it so much because I have been there so many times, met FABULOUS CMs throughout the whole resort, and they treat us sooo nicely there, and really it feels like our own vacation home away from home. I know CMs at the pool, in the shops, in the lounge, in the office behind the front desk, concierge, housekeepers, bakers & decorators.....it is just sooo wonderful and comfortable at the GF for us. Now..the Poly...I haven't stayed in a suite there, LOL...just regular concierge rooms....maybe if I got to stay in the mega princess suite I'd think differently?? I've stayed there maybe 5 times. It's nice but it's not "home" like the GF. The GF holds a special place in my heart. I LOVE IT THERE.

Kelly....bummer!! You've been burning the candle at both ends....time for some R&R. Hope you're feeling better now....not sure what time you posted.

Lucy has been reading her 700+ page book..."Breaking Dawn" all day...omg...she LOVES those Twilight books and has cruised thru them in record breaking time...I need to read them, too. That Barnes & NOble party was freaky. The girls had a great time though. I didn't know if htey would or would make it til midnight but they all said they had a blast. Thanksk to my chattering friends for getting me thru that craziness!!!

Hello Girls!!!! Yes, it really is 3 am. I had to go back to work tonight!!!. We got in last night around mignight. So, today was a day of going through mail, 20 voice mails at home, ugh..... Also, spent the day hanging our with my youngest. She stayed home with Grandma on this trip. She had a great time and is fully potty trained now. She gets to get her ears pierced for her reward and is so excited!!! I really was missing her near the end. So, today I just enjoyed her little faces and expressions. She cracks me up. She kept telling me how much she loves all the characters and then would name them all (at age 2 1/2 )

Boy, I was a away for awhile and missed a lot!!! We only had internet a couple of days, so I would try to keep up with you all, but usually was too exhausted to reply. Where to start?? We had an amazing trip. I think because we did not do the typical Disney trip this time, it took a lot of the pressure off. I will try to give you all the highlights and I promise I will learn how to post pictures this week. It can't be that hard.

I am not sure if V told you all, but the afternoon before leaving I ran my "only 6 month old suburban" into a pole. It was horrible!!! It is our company vehicle and the damage is pretty bad. I just dreaded telling DH. I debated hiding it, but knew that was the vehicle we had to drive to airport, so I drove to find him with my kids in tow in my other car He took it better than expected, but when He got home and saw it it took him awhile to speak to me. We had company over, so it diverted him for awhile. Anyways, a very rough start to trip. That ruined all my last minute getting ready and I only ended up with a couple of hours of sleep. I will be calling insurance Monday, hopefully this does not jack our rates even higher.

So, we did not get moved and stayed at Fort Cabins. I am really glad we had this experience. They were very nice (tons of space) and are doing a lot of updates on landscape over there and I guess pool area is next. Our housekeeping was incredible, we always had a surplus of towels and they would always wash all our dishes. The best part was the towel animals. We had something new every day, and the kids could not wait to see every day what they had done. The bathroom would be done up, along with the kids bedroom. I, of course took pictures before anyone could move them.
We also rented a golf cart that we picked up on 2nd day. That provided lots of fun, but also allowed us to get everywhere fast. The downside was then we did not have to walk much and now I have 10 pounds to lose from all the eating we did We would drive golfcarts to boat stop and get on boats to MK or WL/Contemp to get anywhere.

Our first night we were pushing it and this lovely CM drove us to cabin and then took us to DTD himself. He gave us a tour and gave us a lot of inside info. Did you all know that the construction by the golf course is going to be million dollar homes to live at Disney??? Also, they are re-constructing the tree house villas for VIP's over by OKW. When we asked about BLT, he was so funny telling us about it. He said it is the worst kept disney secret.
Well, we ate at Captain Jacks for our first night on the Deluxe Dining and had Lobster and great Key Lime Pie (my florida fav). We had a great server who kept bringing my kids cherries , which they loved. This was a really good place, but make sure you have ADR's here. They were turning everyone away that did not have one. That was the only place other than Chef Mickeys that I saw that at. The restraunts really were not busy.

Chan, I am so sorry I missed you needing advice about Branson. You were catching a lot of slack about vacationing with the elders-ha!! Actually, I have never been there, but my DH went there all the time as a kid and we know lots of people that go down to that area and boat. You will have fun. We always went to the Dells or Lake Geneva. You all brought back memories talking about Popeyes. That was our ritual, and I loved taking the boat ride and seeing all the beautiful homes. I did not get to party there , but we did at the Dells. Some crazy memories there.

Vanessa, did you go to Lake Geneva or Dells??? Hope it was fun

I will tell you a little more about my trip, but I do not want to bore you all, so let me know when you have had enough. Our second day, after we got settled, did a little swimming. We took kids to Neverland at Poly. The kids were actually a little skeptical, but I told them I had read so many good things about. DH and I were going to hang out at pool bar and have one of those pineapple drinks, but it had been raining and was soooo humid.
We headed over to GF early and ended up in Citricos bar area for drinks. Then we headed down to the Narcosees bar, which was definitlely more our style. We had a great bartender from Chicago and had a great time with him. He was telling us how dead Disney is for this time of year. He said it is usually packed at Narcosses and you can't just walk in. Well, it was time for us to be seated for dinner. I think we had the same German waiter you all had in the previous posts. He was fine for us, but we did not have our kids with us. We also were talking about Germany with him, since my sister is there right now with her husband (where he is from). We had a great meal. It was funny for us, since we had lobster 2 nights in a row. That is a rare thing in Illinois. The almond cheesecake is to die for. I couldn't stop eating it even though I was so full. It blows the cheesecake factory out of the water We hung out on the pier after dinner, and decided to pick kids up hour early, so we could all watch fireworks together. My son was actually not ready to go. He was playing PS2 and Wi with another boy. My girls had art projects galore, so they were happy too. I did also sneak a few pictures there also. I definitley would take them back there

Ok, all have a good day!!! Today is our 12th anniversary!!!! We are still planning on trying to drive to Woodfield to DTD event later today. I heard there are 5 characters there and they play with the kids. If I am too tired, we may back out because I heard that you can't get a good deal adding on a small number of points. I would love to get lucky and win a trip on my anniversary though!!! Dawn, let us know how it is !!! Also, I am 2 shows behind on SYTYCD. I will try to catch up by Wed and we can chat. I can't pick a fav, they are all so good
