Have you seen this?

Here's pictures of the passenger side window smashed in.

Nice group of young fellas just out for a leisurely ride, minding their own business when suddenly this big bad man in the Range Rover started running them down for no apparent reason. Oh, that's right 'cause he's rich and they have tattoos.

Domenech said her family is upset that most of the attention from the incident is focused on Lien and not her nephew, a married father of a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old.
"This man with a Range Rover and luxury lifestyle — it's OK for him to do something to someone because he rides a bike or has tattoos?" she said.
She said she didn't know if the driver should be charged.
"But it should be acknowledged that what he did was wrong," she said. "He had many other options but he chose the violent one."

I would have done WHATEVER I needed to do to try to protect my family in that situation including but not limited to using my vehicle as a weapon. Although I don't think the SUV driver was using his as a weapon, it appears to me he was just trying to flee with his family and didn't let a biker that wasn't moving out of the way stop him.

What I don't understand, is if the injured biker was in front of the SUV to help his buddy instead of trying to keep the SUV from moving why was he the only one hit? Where was the injured buddy then?

A informative post from the FB page

"As a trucker that would deliver in north jersey and New York I am familiar with these groups. I can hopefully clarify a few things. First the initial "accident" is part of a game they play. They ride in a huge group and will operate together to slow down traffic. Next they pick out high end vehicles targeting people with families in them, the targets will usually be white or Asian. Then one of the riders will do a "brake check" and stop suddenly in front of the target vehicle causing a minor bump. In some cases they will just roll back into their target vehicle. They will then mob the vehicle demanding money and or begin attacking the person inside. It is their practice to also slash the tires to prevent the vehicle from escaping. Truckers are well aware of them and are advised not to stop. You can clearly see in the video how they are well practiced in this style of attack. The police in NY have backed off them after an officer ran one down using his vehicle a few months back. The video was all over the net so I advise you to check it out. These "bikers" ride dirt bikes and sport bikes very few of which are street legal and even fewer have plates. They run red lights, stop signs, and have no regard for the law. If you are ever in this situation do not stop, immediately call the police and do whatever you have to to keep them from boxing you in. NEVER leave the scene of an accident if you are not under direct threat!!! Only run if you have no other choice, and again immediately call the police. This is not rare by any means, the only reason this incident got any attention is because of the helmet cam video being posted on the net. If you see anyone in this situation, call the police. Make no mistake confusing these punks with true bikers. You will rarely if ever see a member of these gangs on a Harley. Do not for a minute blame true bikers for this kind of behavior. Bikers like those involved in the 2 million Bikers to DC Rally are American Patriots and would be among the first to come to your aid. A final note, always be aware of motorcycles and share the road. Check your mirrors and don't ride anyone's bumper, motorcycles have a much smaller profile then a car and are harder to see. "

Like all things, we may never know the truth. But there is a biker with a life changing spine injury - did you see that?

I'm assuming you've since watched the video. The driver of the SUV only hit one of the bikers as he was trying to get away from those sorry s.o.b.'s. They were attempting to slash his tires before he tried to get away and accidently hit one of them. The OP is completely right, these pack of animals should all be charged with numerous counts including attempted murder of all of the SUV passengers and their own lil buddy. They're actions make them look like despicable human beings, and I can only assume that they are.

ETA....I'm not sure what other options this guy would have had...he was trapped and surrounded by animals trying to slash his tires and break into his vehicle...and to top it off with his toddler inside. I can't imagine that any prosecutor would actually think he should be held responsible.

This article from CNN states....After the impact, as other bikers were chasing the SUV, Lien made several more 911 calls, an official said.

This is craziness if this type of behavior from the bikers regularly occurs!!!

And if so, how long did it take for the police to respond to his calls??

The news story I heard this morning is that the bikers were trying to form a moving roadblock to clear up the parkway so that they could film themselves doing their stunts that they post to the web.

That actually makes sense.. I have driven on that very section of the West Side Highway.. and when I watched that video.. the first thing I thought of (besides the horror of what I was watching) was why were there no other cars on the road??

Given all the accounts posted here from the various sources, why oh why is the media giving the Mother and the Wife or other relatives of one of these thugs the time of day?
We as citizens should be ticked off, we should be screaming about the comments from GMA's attorney regarding the civil lawsuit or at least addressing that giving the relatives a right to sue is something that we as Americans should be up in arms about.

Because it creates buzz and discussion and draws people to media websites.

To bad for the biker! Don't feel one ounce of pity for trash like that!! This gang terrorizes people and neighborhoods- they ride up on sidewalks narrowly missing people walking, run red lights, block traffic- they think they are untouchable!! So now one finally has to pay the price!

Where does it say they had knives ? They also did not attempt to pull him out of the car until after he ran over their friend and took off.

They slashed the tires on the SUV-need a knife to do that!

There is no "brakes" on a bike. It could have ended there with the cops coming since the wife obviously had time to call since she wasn't driving. you have a choice to not run over people. he had the sympathy to get off his bike and help his friend get up, didn't deserve to be run over. I hope the SUV driver gets charged with attempted manslaughter since that is what it was.

WHAT???? Bikes have no brakes??? That's a new one to me, I know for sure when I had a motorcycle it had brakes!!

If the paralyzed biker tries to sue the SUV driver, he won't have a leg to stand on! (pun completely and fully intended).

Never. Motorcycles have always had brakes.

Some don't. There are some pure racing motorcycles without brakes. They were used only for board racing on wooden racetracks. No throttle or starter - and they ran on full throttle once started - I think could only be push-started. The only way to slow them was to either run out of fuel or to manually cut the ignition.

The injured thug has hired Gloria Allred. She's such a charmer...

First off I thing this gang is disgusting and they need to be taken off the streets. I would like to ask everyone a favor and stop insulting dogs with the phrase sleep with dogs, wake up with fleas. Its even insulting to the fleas. I say we compare them to dung beetles since they are a big pile of it.

How about this one then, "You live by the sword, you die by the sword." These guys went out looking for trouble, and they found it. The blame should lie squarely on their shoulders.

Not even comparable as those aren't street legal.

I haven't read through the entire thread nor have I kept myself updated on this story, but...

If I got into an automobile accident with someone, I'd stop and call 911. Even if it's a slight fender bender between two cars, I'd call 911. If I hit a biker, I'd definitely call 911.

If I felt uneasy because his biker buddies were there, I'd stay in my car with the doors locked and on the phone with 911.

If any of the bikers threatened my family, me, or my property, I'd tell the dispatcher and the bikers that I feel like my life and the lives of my family are threatened, and that I'd do anything in my legal power to defend us.

If the bikers become violent, I'd put the car in gear, get on a highway and hit the pedal, all while describing what I'm doing so my side can be on tape. If I had to run over bikes or those threatening me, so be it.

I'd stay on the highway and keep dispatch aware of my location and keep going.

The best outcome is police catch up with me and the problem ceases. Worst case is I get caught in a traffic jam, surrounded by bikers and have to resort to deadly force. Sadly, if I was in New York, I'd be limited to seven rounds in my pistol's magazine, so it'd be a dicey situation.

Of course, hindsight is 20/20.

I'm not exactly sure what your point is, he did call the police right away, and was on the phone with them through much of the chase.

I watched the whole video and I do not feel bad the injured man at all. His wife should be blaming his fellow gang members because THEY are the ones who created this mess. I hope they arrest ALL the bikers--they should be able to get tag numbers from the footage. They were ALL part of the problem.
