Just saw the commercial today for 'The GPS Child Locator Watch', and can't help to think how unfortunate that it's come to this to aid in keeping kids safe.

I don't think it's a bad idea(although we won't be purchasing one), but personally, I don't think anything's better than a parent's own watchful eye.
Just makes me think of what a world in which we live these days:(

Here's the link if anyone's interested:

Yes-I believe this has been around for awhile-since the advent of GPS-kind of a LOJACK for kids.

I think I've even read of trying to implant the GPS locators themselves so the kids can't be separated from the trackers-what a world.

Wow. That is pretty cool, though. It is sad, but sounds like a good plan. Unfortunately it is expensive!

I AM amazed of the cost. I adopted a purebred boxer "puppy" from my local shelter, and it was required that he be "Doggy Lojacked" before he could he released to me. The cost: $12 for the lifetime of the dog. The chip was implanted between his shoulder blades.

Short story: I couldn't find my dog about 3 months after I adopted him. I called the toll free telephone number and gave his number. They told me that according to the GPS he was about 300 yards from my front door (he was in the woods, eating "leftovers" from an undentified animal).
Yes, I was embarassed.

But how sad, it is cheaper to find our puppies than it is to find our kids.
