Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

4 hours??!! That is awful. Sorry you had that experience.

I know it kind of makes me sound "privileged" or whatever. But my county did a really horrible job on managing it. Not asking for any type of verification was weird also. The State gave out patient IDs that people needed to bring to other events. Supposedly by the very end of the night they ran out of vaccines.. since they knew exactly how many people got an invite it's kind of odd that there weren't enough....

Two days after my first dose of Pfizer and I’m 100%. Yesterday I had a mild headache but I’m not sure if it was from the vaccine or not.

I got a headache about a minute after and still have a mild one today. I also feel a bit drained. Not complaining though, it's not horrible. Although since I had a reaction to this one I hope the 2nd isn't brutal as some have said for me.

DD17 got her Pfizer vaccine around 5:00pm yesterday. This morning around 4am she woke up with a bad nosebleed. So off to the ER we went. 3.5 hours later and it’s stopped and we are home.

I posted a thread about needing to find a therapist to help with my anxiety. Most people would probably think it’s just a nosebleed and no big deal. I think that she’s having a rare complication to the vaccine and is going to die. I hate how my brain immediately goes to worst case scenario. It’s just so weird that she’s never had a nosebleed and gets a really bad one the day after her vaccine. They tested her platelets and everything is fine with her blood.

It doesn't make you sound privileged at all. Clearly there are many locations who have it down to a science. There is really no excuse for the level of disorganization it takes to create a 4 hour wait. But regardless, glad you were able to get the shot and hopefully they will get it together before your next dose!

South Florida Residents: What website(s) did you use to get an appointment for the vaccine? DS is eligible now. DH & I should be on Monday. I've checked every site I know of. None of them have open appointments. I want to make sure I'm not missing any.

Also posted on the CDC thread to make sure as many people see it as possible.

That was a good call. With the known rare platelet issue complication, making sure this wasn't it was a good thing.

Where in S Fl are you?

No, 4 hours is quite excessive.

I'm in Ohio and I got my first dose of Moderna vaccine this past Wednesday. The only side effect was a sore arm (still sore today) and I was SUPER tired that evening and the next day. Second dose is scheduled for April 16th and I can't wait! Ohio lowered their age to 40 and up starting today and then 16 and up by the end of the month. Great news!

I got mine yesterday and my arm just started hurting a few hours ago. I feel a bit lethargic today also, but it's not horrible. I just hope that the second shot is not worse. I know a few people who got sick enough to miss work.

Our school district employees received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this past Wednesday. The school district pre-emptively scheduled both Wednesday and Thursday as at-home asynchronous learning days. Then last night, we got the call that too many staff members/bus drivers were calling off for Friday due to side effects from their second dose, that they made today an at-home asynchronous day, too.

Ugh... ya I am pretty worried about that. I mean being sick for a few days is obviously better than contracting Covid, but I am not looking forward to the "roll the dice" day.

Me and DH both got our first shot this week. DH was Monday at a regional sight because of his job. From start to finish it took him 1 1/2 hours but was at least drive through. I found an appointment at Walmart on Wednesday and was in and out in 1/2 hour. We both only had a sore arm. We both got Moderna.

Do you live in a more rural area? Our Walmarts have been impossible to get in with. I know they supposedly reset at midnight, but I think people watch the seconds count down and spam everything.

Let me start with I’m in Louisville, KY. So I‘m not in an extremely big city, but I still just lucked into an appointment. I did go to a Walmart that was a little more out of the way, but still in the city. Think thats part of the reason I got an appointment. But most people around here are actually signing up through the hospital sights because there more advertised.

Soon after posting here, my DS was able to get an appointment for today at Central Broward Regional park. :cheer2: From the time we got there, until we were leaving, it took about 25 minutes. There was no line at all. I asked, if the same site would be vaccinating 50+ on Monday. The lady said they were waiting for a directive from Tallahassee, but most likely would be. DH & I are hoping to get an appt. there next week, but we'll take an appt. anywhere we can get one. FWIW, they were administering the Pfizer vaccine.

(Another repost from the other thread.)
