Have you ever felt like just..running away?

i know exactly how you feel. I feel the same way every single day. I live in a town of 5,000 people or so and also have big dreams i want to act. I think the thing is everyone feels that way sometimes especially in small towns. It's one of the things about being young were stuck into one selective world for atleast 18 years. So it's impossible to never feel trapped or bored in your life. Your not alone talk to someone not your family but like friends. I think some of the most interesting talks i've had with friends is talking about where were going and what were doing with our lives. It's the fun of being young having dreams dont keep them to yourselves you'll be suprised by what you learn about yourself and people around you if you talk about the future .

Cassidy, you need to realize that you are still a kid. Running away wouldn't get you anywhere except lost and in a lot of danger.

its terrible that you feel this way--not terrible in the sense that you can do anything about it, just terrible in the sense that it shouldnt be like this for anyone. i cant say i have any of these issues, but a few of my friends do, and a couple of them are either suicidal or very close to it. if you have any suicidal thoughts, pm me or talk to someone, please.

Cassidy...hold on to that dream, it just might come true.

I am an actress myself, and its my life. Both parents hate that I act. They say my performing career has torn our family apart. Its the most annoying excuse ever, but I will not give up on my dream.

I have to felt like running away, like nothing here is woth me staying. However, my involvment in theatre has kept me here. Being involved in a show, and the rehearsal process, keeps me sane! Without rehearsals, I would feel so empty.

Why dont you try taking some acting classes, voice lessons, or theatre? Most states have big regional theatres that put on professional shows, and many of them audition local kids.

Also, a few Broadway and Off Broadway shows audition kids/teens. Jason Robert Brown is casting is musical 13 right now, and Spring Awakening is constantly holding open calls. Does hollywood ever film movies in your area? Most of the time big films are looking for local extras. Also if there are any colleges in your area with a film department then they are deffinatly casting actors for there roles.

DEFFINATLY take up playing an instrument, my guitar has been my life saver! You can get your music fix, and let out your feelings into a song. Its amazing.

I hope you can find an outlet for your passion, once you do I am sure you have the ability to go far!

Cassidy, I want to act too so I know how you feel that your dreams will never be reached, I feel that way everyday but I tell myself, 'self if this is what you want to do, do it, you only get one life and you need to live it up while you can'.

Honestly, I know everyone is telling you not to run away, and they are 100% right, I've read and seen so many things and its not the way to go.

How many singers/actors do you know of that ran away and are super successful now ?I'm not quite sure of any.

But you have to talk to your parents. You need to sit them down and make sure you are serious with them. Tell them exactly what you want, if they don't listen tell them again.

Maybe if there is a relative that lives close by you can crash at there house so you have some time to think and so will your parents.

I think everyone goes through a time in their life where they feel like they don't belong, and they just want to leave where they are. I have never actually wanted to run away from home, but I've wished that I lived some place else. I live in a very boring town, and its just not me.

My advice for you: Stick with your friends. I'd say talk to your parents but that just sounds so... I don't know how to put it. If you say your mom is always with your sister, than maybe try and tell your mom how your feeling. I know it seems like it won't help but you never know.

The important thing is, like others said, you're still young. It may seem like you're going through a rough patch now, but in a few years you may look back and realize that it wasn't that bad.

Look at this way: When you finally get the chance to pursue your dreams, you'll know it was for the right reasons. You did it because its your passion, and you got there yourself. Be proud of that. (If that makes sense.)

when youre 17, if you stll feel this way, then just go for it and talk to your parents about getting emancipated.
