Have to get this off my chest, was I wrong?

Really? Where is that rule posted?

I was wondering the same thing. If you rushed to fill in every gap in a line there would be chaos.

The exceptions are when lines dump into pre-show rooms and even the lines for pre-show rooms, of course.

Kind of reminds me of the "hurry up and wait" mentality so many of us in the Northeast seem to use.

People stop for photo ops there all the time. Every time I've been in line, everyone just waits for the photos to be taken. As others have said, it doesn't make your wait any longer. We take pictures with Mr. Potato Head if the line is stopped there. If not, we go on passed. Last week, we took pics for the people in front of us so they could all be in it. They in turn asked if they could return the favor. It took all of about 60 seconds, so no one was put out. I don't see the problem with stopping.

Common sense or we not using this one anymore?:confused3
BTW, no cutting rule is not posted anywhere in Disney as well.

Really? It's common sense to rush past anyone who pauses in a line? I must be lacking in common sense than.

I've always preferred common courtesy anyway -- and common courtesy tells me that a line is not an "every man for himself" situation where you should rush past anyone who pauses for a moment.

I'm pretty sure it is official Disney policy that line cutting is not permitted, and you can be removed from lines for doing so. If you don't believe me, try it in front of a CM.

My common sense tells me that the family in front of me is not prejudicing me if they are taking pictures and allowing gaps to form in front of them, whatever its size, as long as that gap does not delay me actually getting on the ride later than what I otherwise would have. In the TSM standby queue, as long as there are people held at the FP merger point, it doesn't matter if the family in front of me lets ten foot gaps form in front of them, then move all at once to fill them, or if they are constantly taking three inch paces never allowing more than twelve inches of space to form between them and the people they are behind. I will get to the FP merger point at exactly the same time.

You were right, I wouldn't be offended if someone walked in front of me if they were taking their dear old time taking pictures, I see no problem with it. I got mad on TSM as this idiot man decided to kick me while I was trying to get my 3d glasses that is no patience but if they had a large group, they should not expect you to wait for them to take a million pictures. TSM brings out the rudeness to me I was truly upset walking through at RD the whole atmosphere, you were in the right the lady was rude and entitled.

But really, you didn't have to wait any longer as long as the line hadn't completely disappeared to the point that it was their turn to board. I don't understand why people get so impatient. The time you are waiting in line is no different if you are standing 2 inches behind the next person in line or 20 feet behind them as long as you aren't the next to board the ride. Why ruin your day and someone else's with such a minor problem? You're in Disney for goodness sake! Calm down, relax and actually enjoy your vacation.

This above, as long as it is a single line and not a group (example test track room).
Why rush to go nowhere?
Slow down and take time to enjoy the little details.

I'll be at DHS in 35 days. You're all welcome to come stand behind me and my family in line while we take 10-15 minutes worth of pictures. I'm pretty sure things will turn ugly after about 60 seconds even though we won't be making anyone wait any longer for the ride (according to the "experts").

There is a huge difference between pausing for a moment and stopping to take multiple pictures. Common courtesy has nothing to do with that. Someone wants to take their time and not to move, wait a bit and go around.:confused3

Should I have waited while they finished their rather lengthy photo shoot? Really ruined the night for me. I suppose I should have just let her have her way but she made me sooo mad!!!!

(Warning: Trish's Berserk Button has been hit.)

No. No you should not have waited. I say you were totally in the right.

Both your party and her party (and presumably loads and loads of other parties) were WAITING IN A LINE FOR A RIDE. I have no sympathy for anyone who holds up lines. Get a clue and keep the darn thing moving.

Honestly, the queue for TSM is the worst designed one in the whole park. All the little kids in the line want to do is break out and crawl all over the giant toys and all the clueless adults want to do is film their little brats talking to Mr. Potato Head. People, there are playgrounds and character encounters for this kind of thing. MOVE!!!

(Why yes, I have had to deal with annoying people last time I didn't score a FastPass. Could you tell?)

I've seen many a person/people cut in line in front of a CM, and the CM says absolutely nothing.

I would wait for a bit if a family is taking photos, but after a certain point in time, I'm walking past them. If when they are finished taking photos and walk ahead to where I am, and they wish to get back in front of me where they were BEFORE they stopped for photos, then fine, they are welcome to go right ahead.

Yes, because instead of standing NYAH waiting, I could be standing over NYAH waiting.

Wow...they know who to get loud with and who not..I guarantee I would have walked past her and she wouldn't have said squat to me. If you wanna take photos fine I'm not waiting for you to take your pictures and if you wanna get loud be prepared for what's coming next :headache:

Seems a simple solution, everyone use courtsey - Maam, are you going to move forward, the line has moved - if she ignores or says no, then you go ahead and move forward.

THIS... IS... MY... HAPPY... PLACE....

GRRRRRRR!

Seriously, why not go to a WWE event or something? Might be better for you than a trip to Disney World.
