Has the DIS taught me nothing? Spring Break at WDW! **Trip Report Link p.12**

Three weeks to go??? :woohoo::yay::woohoo: How exciting and new clothes as well!!! Yea!!!!

LOVED Winston's haircut, sounds like you all had a great time and did a lot of good for the community!

Glad the eval. went well and hope the follow-up is as good as the initial comments...of course, I knew you would be great!

I hope if this is the job for you, that you have clarity in your decision making...I KNOW they are going to offer it to you, how could they not! :flower3:

Looking forward to hearing GREAT news! Before Disney!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Coming your way!

:thumbsup2 You've got it - it sounds like a great opportunity!

Thanks for the good thoughts! And I've already bookmarked your blog - I'm sure it will be a great read!

its like they TRY to embarrass us by going in the worst possible spot, isn't? :rotfl::rotfl:

:thumbsup2 for a good review!

I joked when Winston was a puppy that if you shaved his belly, he'd have a 666 birthmark - what a terror! He's still crazy but in a much more manageable way.

3 weeks? I can hardly believe your trip is almost here! There is nothing like those last few days leading up to departure day is there? So excited for you guys!

Three weeks how did that happen:cool1:

We're at 2 1/2 weeks now!

So, first of all, tomorrow is the day my supervisor goes over all of my evaluation paperwork. Why she can't do it right after my observation, I will never understand but I'd love some good thoughts - she is one of those supervisors who always finds something to critique.

In other news, they offered me the job! I was initially ecstatic and now its settling in that it will actually happen. At this point, I'm 97% sure I'm going to take it. I think its just really great timing to transition back to adults, good benefits, full insurance, higher salary, decent vacation (nothing will ever compare to school vacations). But I just hate change and making decisions, but my gut has already been telling me that I should do it. So all of your good thoughts worked! Thank you! :flower3:

Ok, I promise my next update will be Disney related. I honestly haven't been planning all that much since I've been so busy with school and there isn't much left to plan anyway. But I do have the MK to talk about and I'm sure lots of little details will come up. So thanks for reading!

CONGRATS!!

When do you start?!

Hopefully that means good news for me this weekend, even though I won't find out till April 5th!

Thanks! I won't start until summer. Luckily they didn't mind! I just couldn't break my school contract and leave them all hanging for the rest of the school year. Although I will have to tell them in the next month or so...I'm dreading it.

I will send all my good vibes your way so you ace your test! :goodvibes

Congrats Wonders! If your gut is telling you take it then take it! The full insurance would be the clincher for me. :goodvibes

WAAAHOOOO on the job offer!:cool1::cool1:

You did accept, right?

Definitely give the school notice. Even if you are finishing out the year, it may be helpful to them to start the process. I know that where I work, it takes about 2 months just for HR to finish approving the paperwork to fill an open position. don't know why!

What are you doing with Winston during your trip? If you posted I don't remember. --oh and I love the 6-6-6 comments! Thor's alternate name is Psycho Dog ;)

are you packed yet? are you buying room groceries when you get there? I am curious to see how everyone handles the stuff they don't want to spend a fortune on. I am torn between garden grocer & wegoshop.

Yes I accepted! Sent my signed contract in the other day. And I've already told a few people close to me, and I have to tell one more person this week - I'm meeting with her on Wednesday. I only hated having to tell people because I felt guilty for leaving (thank you mom for instilling that Catholic guilt in me), but they have all been very supportive and happy for me to make another step in my career.

Winston is a very spoiled dog and he goes to doggy daycare a few days during the week while I'm at work. They also have boarding so that is where he goes. He's happy and well take care of and they know his oddities very well.

I'm not packed - I typically do that the night before, but I'm making lots of lists! I have lists of toiletry items to pack, clothes I'm bringing, things I still need to buy. I'm famous for my lists  We don't typically bring/buy tons of groceries when we go, mainly because they are shorter trips. Usually we just bring a salty/crunchy snack and something sweet to munch on in the afternoon and some bottled water from home.

Thank you again for all the congratulations on my job offer. I did accept and will be starting towards the end of June. As excited as I am to work in a new environment with a completely different population, I'm also excited about the financial opportunities I'll have. I'm hoping to be a home owner in about a year and a half if everything goes as planned :goodvibes :thumbsup2

On to an update...What a productive Saturday! I did my grocery shopping, some major cleaning in my apartment, and bought a few items for my trip! I hit Target for the first time in a few months. That place is just dangerous for me – I always tend to buy tons of things that aren’t on my list when I go there. Add to that the fact that my income tax return $$$ was deposited into my bank account yesterday and I was a little nervous I’d walk out of there with way too much stuff. This time I had lots of restraint, and only bought the things I needed, minus a small Easter basket for $2.50 to add to my Easter décor (when I put it out). Some of the items I purchased for our trip were:

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

I also bought some new underwear, but I didn’t really think it necessary to share a picture of that :rotfl:

I also attempted to purchase our park tickets at AAA. But when I pulled up, got out of the car and walked to the door, I realized they’re closed on Saturday! :headache: Looks like I will have to find some time during the week to stop and get them.

Tomorrow, my plan is to hand wash a couple of my “handwash” clothes, do some work for school, some paperwork for my new job, and clean the bathroom floor. Does it get more exciting? Honestly, I know I’m an adult when cleaning and organizing makes me feel so good.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Can’t believe the trip is 2 weeks from today. I cannot wait – I hate this time of year in school. Everyone, kids and adults, are just over it and ready for a break. I’m working on a MK planning update so stay tuned for that and thanks for reading!

Congratulations on your new job...how exciting!!:goodvibes

Target is dangerous for me too, I keep a running list so when we actually get an opportunity to head down to the states, we're ready! I'm a list girl too!!Looking at the stuff you bought, looks exactly like what I would have bought!!

I love Saturday's...I get up, have my coffee, check into the Dis, start the laundry and housecleaning and then just enjoy the rest of the day!!! I love the way it feels when you sit down after everything is clean:goodvibes

Can't believe you leave in 2 weeks!

On the new job...that is awesome news!

Now on to the Disney planning with a light heart and new stuff!!! I love that Winston goes to Doggy Day Care, how cute! He is your baby and SHOULD be spoiled...I can't believe how close it is to your trip!!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo:

nice buys!! My mom always says that for a trip, it is totally okay and a must to buy new undies, socks, and shoes!!

I wish I could pack big health/beatuy things like that but with flying, it just seems silly to take up the room when you can bring things back that you buy!! On the flip side, if you bring bigger bottles, it will limit your buying there...something to think about I guess!

Thanks for the well wishes! Assuming I pass this one of these days, I might be asking your advice for good school districts in the areas. I'm not sure yet if I want to be closer to Orlando or the coast..I have family that live south of Tampa and love it and a friend that lives/teaches on the other coast near WPB. I have for sure learned from other friend's mistakes to research your area before you agree to teaching there!!!

I live at target. I didn't go for 3 days this week and my dad was worried it would close it doors :rotfl:

So happy about the job and happy house *dreaming* that yr and a half will come fast enough.

Can't believe your trip is so close :cloud9:

Yeah for pre-trip shopping! Lol when I saw the lack of undies....yeah, we get it!

I know what you mean about the cleaning....it is not like your taking the apt with you to WDW but cleaning definitely is on the list! I enlisted dh and dd for an hour's worth of work yesterday and what a difference! It was so relaxing to come home to a tidy house yesterday!

Off to church...ttfn!

I was born and raised in the fort lauderdale area...in the county south of WPB. Honestly, other than when I was an actual child, I rarely went to the beach. And now I live in a city that is even more beach oriented and I'm even closer to the water. And I still rarely go. That being said, I think I would really miss it if I had moved to Orlando like I almost did last year. I have a friend who works in Osceola county schools (Kissimmee, Orlando area) and I currently work in Martin County schools (great great great! but a very small county). Being in ESE, we get lots of transfer students from nearby districts and while I'm sure they all have their good and bad schools (like most districts), I would not want to work in some of them just because I see how they handle their ESE population and the shady paperwork. But gen-ed could be a completely different story. My niece and nephew are in public school in palm beach and I rarely hear complaints from DB or DSIL.

Congrats on your new job. Very exciting!

We are getting soooo close to our trips. I can't wait!
