Has the DIS taught me nothing? Spring Break at WDW! **Trip Report Link p.12**

Ugh! I'm looking through my clothes and have decided that I hate everything I thought I was going to bring to Disney. The shorts aren't a problem but I'm hating my tops. I want to be comfy, cute and cool (temp wise - I'm always cool :cool2:) and I don't want to look frumpy dumpy. Maybe its a mood - let's hope because I do not have the time, nor do I want to spend the money, to buy more clothes for this trip.

Thank you again for all the congratulations on my job offer. I did accept and will be starting towards the end of June.
AWESOME - congrats! :cool1:
I'm hoping to be a home owner in about a year and a half if everything goes as planned
:thumbsup2 Now is definitely the time to buy in FL!

I hit Target for the first time in a few months. That place is just dangerous for me – I always tend to buy tons of things that aren’t on my list when I go there.
::yes:: :rotfl2: I don't know what they do in there, but I literally cannot get out without dropping $60-75 each trip! I've been avoiding the place like the plague lately...

I also attempted to purchase our park tickets at AAA. But when I pulled up, got out of the car and walked to the door, I realized they’re closed on Saturday! :headache:
Well, that's just... bizarre! I;d think Sat. would be a big day for people wanting travel assistance.

OOOOHHH boy. Well, I'll hope it's a passing mood with you, but... I know exactly what you mean and the only time it passes for me is when it gets too hot to care anymore, lol! I have a drawer FULL of T's, but keep searching for cuter ones anyway.

 I hate when my closet suddenly appears to have been taken over by someone twice as heavy and twice as old as me.

Here's hoping the wardrobe fairy pops in while you are at work. :wizard:

Ugh, what a week! Of course the last couple weeks have been normal work wise and now this week and next (when I have full blown spring break brain), everything is going nuts - meetings which means lots of paperwork and I was stressing trying to get paperwork in for my new job and then she tells me to relax that I have plenty of time. So why was she pestering me everyday to send it back? I found out today that I had to get 2 IEPs done by tomorrow - for a meeting that isn't until next week so I just finished up with that. After leaving work an hour and 15 minutes late because of a meeting that ran way long. It was very awkward as well - it was for the other SLP at my school. Her son is having some difficulties in school and I had to test him and today was the day we went over everything and it just didn't turn out the way she hoped and I (along with the rest of the team) felt very in the middle about everything because she's a friend and co-worker but we still have to follow the state rules. Ugh, frustrating.

I am feeling somewhat better about my clothes situation. Once I get to the park and that first bead of sweat forms, I won't give a hill of beans what I look like

So I guess I just needed to vent - now I need to get back to work and get everything ready for tomorrow!

Hi Shannon! I finally caught up with your pre-trip report. I had a lot I wanted to comment on and now I forgot most of it :rotfl:

My only thing I do remember is that we went to Disney on our April vacation last year and it wasn't as bad as I thought so here's to hoping it's the same for you. :woohoo:

I always hate my outfits when I pack them to go somewhere, so you're not alone.

Hey..I have been trying to get caught up on my Dising after our trip, and I was very excited to see your new job! Congrats!!! I am very happy for you...
Hope all your plans are coming together and you have a great trip!!!

Hi everyone,

2 more days this week until the weekend - I honestly don't know if I can make it. I'm exhausted, stressed and all I can think about is my trip. Speaking of my trip, there may be a change in our arrival day plans.

I live in an apartment and a lot of my living room furniture is hand me down from my DB. Still very nice, probably not what I would have bought myself, but it was free. I did "splurge" and bought myself this TV stand over the summer from IKEA:

ry%3D480

Which I put together all by myself, thank you very much :rolleyes1 But now I'm really hating the end table I have next to my couch. I really wanted something white to match the tv stand and the ones in furniture stores were way too expensive. So I browsed IKEA online and saw this:

ry%3D480

It's the matching end table to my tv stand! And the price is right! So...since I won't be down at my mom's until Easter, probably (she has an IKEA about 25 minutes south of her), she suggested we go to the IKEA in Orlando at some point during our trip to buy it. I should have mentioned its not available to buy online...so I'm thinking our arrival day would be the most logical choice since we aren't doing a park. I'm glad she doesn't mind - honestly I think she is just excited to get away, like I am. My cousin, who lives with her at the moment, can take her toll on you and work is stressful for her right now as well.

So that's all for now. I might make a quick trip to Old Navy this weekend to look at some tops, if not I'm just going to make do with what I have. I've seen much worse on my trips  Thanks for reading!

Only time for a Quick note ( I am cooking dinner). Shannon, I typed a long note the other night on your PTR about the shorts, etc...and it is GONE I don't know if I was so sleepy I didn't save it after I previewed it. :sad2: I will be back. :goodvibes

Okay, folks, I have a huge update but that will come in a moment. I’ve been mentioning how stressed and out of sorts I’ve been and yesterday I just could not take it so I ended up taking a personal day today (or a mental health day as some call it). It was just what the doctor ordered. I slept in, DISed a little, then Winston and I ran some errands. We went to Starbucks, the bank, to AAA to (finally) purchase these beauties:

Then to the beach to just chill, listen to the waves (and tire Winston out):

Not sure if Winston really enjoyed it. The water sort of freaked him out when the waves came up to his feet. And I think I brought half the beach back into the car with me. But he’s zonked out next to me now so I guess mission accomplished.

I spoke with my mom last night and we are thinking we will go straight to IKEA on our arrival day, before we head to the resort. I will definitely be calling first though to make sure they have it in stock because I would be really annoyed if I wasted a couple hours going there when I could be at WDW.

Now on to the HUGE update. It definitely came out of left field – it popped into my head yesterday and I just couldn’t shake it. Resort-itis. I was really looking forward to staying at POFQ. Our short visits there have been nice and we love POR. BUT the crowds are picking up right now and I know that some of the Deluxe resorts have a lot of convenience getting to the parks, plus are more enjoyable during those afternoon breaks. Soooo…I changed our resort. We are now staying here:

(thank you Allears for the pics)

Sidenote - My mom is very stressed at work (she is retiring soon, 2 years) and they are already bringing someone into her office to start learning her job. So she is frustrated by that plus the person who is taking her position is a little on the annoying side. And one thing about my mom is she NEVER complains. EVER. She’s not a robot or anything, but it takes a lot for her to show negative emotions. And she has vented to me about it the past few times I’ve talked with her. So to surprise her, I’m not telling her that I switched the resort (and of course not expecting her to pay the difference in price – my treat, thank you new job). She vaguely knows the Disney area but since I’m driving I’ll totally be able to throw her off and hopefully she won’t realize anything is up until I pull into the Beach Club! The BC and Poly are her favorite resorts (if $$$ is no object) and the BC is cheaper (I’m using the word cheap loosely here) and she LOVES Stormalong Bay. We stayed here a couple years ago and she really, really liked it. I love the convenience of getting to Epcot and DHS, especially during high crowds. And it will be nice to be able to walk the Boardwalk area and chill out here on hot, busy afternoons:

My MK update will be coming, but since I’m leaving a week from tomorrow, I may do a daily “this time next week” update instead and put my MK piece on the MK day. Thanks everyone for reading! :cutie:

Wow, that's awesome you were able to change resorts! My parents and sister just got back from BCV. Such a nice place.

Can't believe how fast it's coming up now!

I know - I cannot wait for it to get here to just get away. At this point, I don't even care if I ride a single ride

What I think is funny is I had my pick of room categories and resorts (with a FL Res discount). GF, Poly, FQ, BC, YC, BWI, AK, WL. All available with standards on up to club level. How can it be so packed if there are that many rooms still available?

This time next week, I will be waking up bright and early to finish packing all those last minute things you need the morning you leave – toothbrush, toothpaste, makeup, etc. The night before I will have put all of these outfits in my suitcase, plus a few extra tops for evening changes:

I’m crossing my fingers that my mom will make it up to my place by 8:30ish so that we can leave shortly thereafter to drop off this little guy at his hotel for the next 4 nights:

Then we will load the car and hit the road.

**I only have this picture because I bought it in August and had to get a picture with it!

It takes about 2 ½ -3 hours, depending on traffic and your final destination. Here’s where it gets tricky. I want to go to IKEA but now that we are staying at BC, I really want to get there and get as much out of it as possible. So depending on the time when we get to Orlando, we will decide if we want to go to IKEA or not. Lunch is also up in the air since we will probably be arriving right around lunch time. If we go to IKEA, I think I will suggest we do something quick off property.

Once we get to WDW, I will surprise my mom by pulling into the BC. Hopefully she will be happy and excited, not annoyed that I’m spending more money. We may go for a swim if the weather and time permits, if not I have 2 tentative plans for this night – 1) DTD and dinner at Wolfgang Puck OR 2) Epcot for a few hours and dinner at La Hacienda (the new table service Mexican restaurant outside). I have ADRs for both (I know. I’m such a rebel.) Then an early bedtime for our first full day in the parks!

Wow that is going to be a great surprise for your mom :thumbsup2
Can't wait to hear what she says when you pull up.

I love that you have a bag for Winston. I just asked my dh what we are going to do with our dog while we are gone?

Love your outfits :cloud9:

What kind of SUV is that. It is really pretty :lovestruc
I am looking at a 12 passenger vans but yours is way nicer :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Oh I'm sure your mom will be upset with you at first about spending more money then once she's there she'll be fine :lovestruc

I hope to stay at BC one day too.

It's a "31" bag. My friend sells them and I felt like I had to buy something so since I always take Winston's toys and food with me to my mom's (or for boarding), I thought I'd get him his own bag! If you don't have family/friends that can take care of your dog, I'm sure there are dog hotels in your area. Even the Vet boards, although its not as much fun ;)

It's a Honda CR-V. 5 passenger. I love it! I had a Saturn Ion for 7 years (my very first car) and I was very ready for an upgrade. I miss not having a car payment every month, but its such a great car that I almost don't mind. I remember the day I looked at it, the salesman asked if I had any kids as he started telling me about all the safety features in the backseat. I laughed and said "I have a dog". For some reason, that really cracked him up.

Oh I'm sure your mom will be upset with you at first about spending more money then once she's there she'll be fine :lovestruc

Yes, a little upset. But she'd be more upset if I told her now, rather than while we are physically there - we were chatting earlier and I mentioned the Epcot dinner reservation and she mentioned how it would be nice to walk around Epcot at night for a little bit...little does she know :rolleyes1

Hi everyone,

This is going to be one boring "this time next week" update. I started to feel sort of "off" last night and I am full on sick now. I'm hoping and praying it is just a cold and I will feel much better tomorrow. But the last 2 times I got sick, they turned into sinus infections, so fingers crossed that's not the case.

Anyway, this time next week, my mom and I will be waking up to our first full day at WDW. On today's agenda is Epcot! After a stroll to the International Gateway, we will book it (okay, walk at a normal pace) towards Soarin' to either ride or get a FP. We are playing it very much "by ear" this trip so other than making sure we get to ride Soarin' we will just do as we please, at least at Epcot. Other than Soarin', our one planned thing is lunch at Via Napoli! I'm excited to try this place because the food looks yummy and my mom hasn't met an Italian dish she didn't like. I'm also getting even more interested in checking out the Pick a Pearl stand in Japan, so we will definitely be stopping there.

I have no doubt we will be taking a pool break at some point and depending on the timing of that, we may or may not return to the park. Or maybe we will go back just for dinner. Like I said, playing it by ear!

On tomorrow's agenda - DHS!

Shannon, Praying you feel better VERY quickly and that this passes so that you can get in excitement mode and finish thouse last minute details!!! I love your shirts you are taking and the upgrade in your accommodations...WONDERFUL! Your Mom is going to LOVE it and be so thankful once she gets over being surprised (We Mom's are like that) :goodvibes I think I FINALLY figured out what happened to my missing update...I previewed it, got called away from the computer and when I returned the computer had restarted for the automatic update...and I THOUGHT I had saved it instead of previewed it...that has really bugged me!

I wish I was close enough to babysit Winston, he is such a cutie pie! Did I say I loved the furniture...or was that in my missing update...arrghhhhhhh! I LOVE the Furniture! And the fact you live so close to Disney, I wish it was me too!:goodvibes Tkae care of yourself so you can have a great week leading to your FABULOUS Spring Break!!! Thanks for the prayers. I think they are working! I did stay home today. I felt feverish (I don't typically run fevers, but I can still feel like I have a fever if that makes sense. Its usually my clue that I should stay home from work or that I'm actually sick, not just allergies). I feel really guilty because I took the day off on Friday and I was totally healthy (physically anyway, mentally I was a mess - now the opposite). But I do think its just a cold, not a sinus infection or anything worse as its coming out of my sinuses, not completely blocked ;)

No biggie about the missing reply - things happen. I know you are reading! :goodvibes I think if you met Winston, you might take back that offer really quick :rotfl: he can be a sweetie, but my mom tells me he is preparing me for motherhood because he gets into everything! I have to watch him at all times - especially at my mom's house. So many things to climb on, smell, lick, chew, steal...
