We are brand new DVC purchasers. Last spring, before we even dreamed we'd buy into DVC, we relinquished time at another timeshare to Interval International, hoping for a Disney exchange. The few times an onsite reservation was available we were unable to travel. Now we find ourselves with two separate weeks which must be exchanged (and travel occur) by April 4, 2003. I had just planned to spend spring break at one of the five-star Orlando resorts, such as the Sheraton Vistana or Marriott's Grande Vista, but my husband is absolutely nuts at the idea, saying he would prefer a shorter time in a smaller unit as long as it is onsite. (He said something like preferring to sleep in the lobby onsite than in luxury outside, but I think he was exaggerating.) The light bulb came on and I thought we might trade this week for enough points for a few weekday nights--you know, if someone needed a bigger room or wanted more days than they had points to stay.
Will this work? Has anyone here traded points for a reservation elsewhere? If anyone has had luck working a similar trade, please let me know any details, because it would make my life quite a bit easier. Thanks, guys!
