We're thinking of taking a trip out to CA next year, and theres a beautiful ritz-carlton on the beach we thought about staying at for a night or 2. My only concern is that DDs will be 5.5yrs and 3yrs. and I'm hoping the resort isn't too 'fancy' for them. Has anyone stayed at a resort like this with small children? Did it work out ok?

The one in the Laguna area? We stayed there a couple of times with kids of various ages. We were comfortable there, even in it's splendour. I did do my utmost to keep tones at a minimal, but found the staff and patrons to be very nice.

Yup, thats the one we were looking at...Is there a restaurant there for kids also? And was it a nice beach area? I'm sure we won't be at the hotel a lot, we'll be out doing things, but I want everyone to feel comfortable there.

It seems that one of the restaurants had a kid's menu. The beach was awesome!!! And Dana Point is just down the way. Great restaurants there! (At least there used to be! I can't believe it has been 8 years!!!)

I loved this place. I have some incredible pictures of my boys on that beach!
