Has anyone stayed Hawaii Conceirge?

My mom (who is a DVC member) is thinking of staying five days this summer in Hawaii Conceirge. She has to do that since she hasn't put in for II yet. Has anyone stayed in those resorts? Which one to you recommend? When can she book for this? Is it hard to get a reservation there in the summer? Any help would be appreciated!

Do you mean the Concierge Collection?

If so, we've stayed at the Grand Wailea a number of times and are actually members there which gives us a discount on rooms. It is a beautiful hotel with grand public areas and lovely, large rooms. The beach is great and the pools are amazing. There is a beautiful adults only pool and an activity pool that is like SAB on steroids. Amazing pool.

Can't help about availability on points as we've never used them there.

Just give them money.

We joined some years ago so I know the membership buyin has changed. But there is info on membership right on the website. Anyway, they hold your membership fee so you do lose the use of it but we make up for it with the discounts on rooms even if we don't go every year...which we don't.

There is also an annual fee now which was not true when we first joined....around $100.

It wants me to put in some info to receive the "membership information." Roughly how much is the membership and how much are the discounted rooms? Everyone I talked to said Grand Wailea is the best hotel on the island.

We get 50% off the rooms for up to two rooms which is what we have usually needed.

I don't know how much the buyin is now. We do know two couples that joined last year. I'll ask my DH if he knows what the fee was for them.

Mater, I just spoke with my husband who was with one of the guys who became members last year. They both think it was $3,000 last year. My DH says it was $1,000 when we joined.

Good luck with your decision. If we lived in SF we would certainly make better use of our membership!

And you're right about those points...wouldn't that be nice.
