Has anyone stayed at Surfside recently? Do you like it?

I feel like this post is somewhat misleading. It is 1.4 miles and 29min to City Walk from Surfside by Google Maps. People are saying you would have to be super slow to do that walk in 30 minutes, but if you were fit and ran 1.4 miles (half a 5K, minus some) you would be talking about 13-14 minutes... and that is being fairly fit and running. HRH is an 11 minute walk and SS is way further than that.

I'm just mentioning this so people know what they are getting into. There is no way Endless Summer resorts are 10 minutes by walking to City Walk.

Where exactly are you measuring City Walk from?
the bus terminal? or the actual entrance to the parks?
Cause even if you took the bus, you would still have to walk from the bus terminal all the way to the Universal gate and you would have to factor that into the bus time.

You're not wrong, but having to walk from the bus to the parks doesn't make the Endless Summer resorts 3x closer than they are. HRH is 10ish minutes. CBBR is a good 20ish minutes. Both are closer than ES. So, yes... prospective travelers should know that there is commuting time and distance from the bus drop off points _and_ that ES resorts are easily 30 minutes by walking.

I take it you haven't walked it. 30 minutes is rather extreme. You are taking the high end for a super slow person and then measuring that against the quickest bus.

Standing in line at park close waiting for the bus is still time that you have to count into the equation. You must also count the time it takes to walk from the bus terminal to the Universal entrance for the bus rider and then the bus ride itself.

I timed it last weekend and it's 15 minutes and 17 seconds from in front of the Surfside at the intersection to the bottom of the escalator at the Surfside bus terminal at City Walk.
